Finally after 2 months, I got to see the results of the WJM and Slowrx recommended mods and Matt B’s(Slowrx) hard work: Slowrx swapped the huge PIT/MF’nA 3” hard turbo inlet, TGV deletes, phenolic spacers and ported Ball Racing Upper intake + a few of Matt B’s secret smog deletes he snuck in there. I am running a essentially non-catted 3” exhaust, Big16g turbo of unknown origin and stock 205 w/Sti tmic and of course AP2.

Scott S. was able to get me up to 298awhp/298ft/lb before having to spend literally about 4 hours trying to figure out what the F was causing my boost map to look like Dick Cheney's heart monitor. Finally after pressure testing, swapping bov’s, boost controllers and the friggin' kitchen sink, Scott narrowed it down to the turbo. After major palpitations of my own, it turned out to be the actuator instead of the turbo…..Whew. I had to settle for around 298awhp and roughly 274 ft/lb until I get a fix on the actuator. But we are looking at +24 awhp gain to the wheel and potentially 24+ft/lb gain once the turbo is fixed with a realistic potential of 300awhp/300ft/lb which is my goal for this set up. That my friends is not too shabby! Big Prop’s to Slowrx for his wrenching and of course Scott for his expertise, uber patience and professionalism and all the crew at Top Speed for lending a hand whenever necessary and accommodating me all day. Scott (without mentioning numbers) giving me a very, very good deal for the time! Need I mention the plethora of jaw dropping cars to drool over all day!

sounds like the same problem jason has with his 18g.

i forget who his is by, but i'd be willing to bet its the same manufacturer as yours.

i think its just solved by a stiffer spring right?

.....or you could weld it and go external ;)

I do have a stiffer acutator that just came off the turbo, what spring rate is your current one and how much boost do you run?

The standard spring rate on most 18g's is 11 psi. On my 18g when I was still IWG I had the 16 psi actuator and never had a problem.
