It's almost certainly on for Friday February 20th. We'll do a combined SR Driver Education Clinic and SR Open Track Day: The SRDEC is the standard: 9 Hours at the track 6 Students MAX 3 Students hot on track at a time (no traffic, and you'll always have an instructor in the car with you) Included: Lead-follow lapping, ride-along with instructors, classroom instruction, in-car instruction, etc Included: Siegel Racing Handbook, Classroom materials, Lunch, Drinks, Pics, Video $400 $200 deposits to hold spots. The SROTD is $200 total ($100 deposit) for more track time (but minimal if any instruction) than you will want to run Siegel
The SRDEC is all day... It WAY more track time available than you'll likely want... The SROTD is an option for those that feel they don't need instruction
If I can find a job I'll be there! If you do the SRDEC you won't want to do any more lapping. It's a ton of track time.
Can a awd porche come? My buddy that went to roebling had car issues and did not get track time. Also, for those who have not done any real racing (road courses) I highly suggest the SRDEC, My first lap out after just minimal instruction was an amazing difference. At clubwars I was first in the novice class and only 3 sec slower than the fastest time posted other than the Z06. If you think Scott is serious when it comes to tuning you aught to see him at the track. I was very impressed. Now that I have brown nosed you enough SS reply to my text. lol
WooHoo, Ill be there instructing Who thinks Doug should bring out his street car so I can whoop Siegel
Maybe TopSpeed could have a track-prep promotion on: oil change brake fluid brake pads ss lines axle-nut checks etc... and maybe partner with GTE on a discounted performance alignment. just a thought
Excellent thought Monk. Consider it done on everything other than partnering with GTE, I'll call them later and figure out what we can do. Siegel
I think I'm gonna have to bite the bullet and do this. I've been meaning to do this for a while. We have to furnish our own helmet? Just wondering cause I don't have one. Also, I can't get to Top Speed to hand a check before you guys close on weekdays. What's the next best alternative? Let me know and I'll put in my deposit. Thanks.
Scott usually has a few extra helmets with him. You can pick up a cheap GForce helmet from Discovery Parts for less than 100 bucks usually.
I would sure love to get some instruction in my 08 body roll machine but will have to shot for another time...and that is a TON of track time! I'm sure You ladies will have a Large time!
I've sent two of the pre-event e-mails to everyone signed up, let me know if you haven't gotten them. There are 2 spots left Siegel
After this event I'll write a quick report on the reviews section on how DBA5000 rotors work with XP10s in the front.
you running stock rears? I'm guessing your report will go like this - "oversteer is fun until walls get in the way"
bumpity if it's not full, only 9 days away weather.com just released the weather. Take it for what you will, but I'm liking the forecast...60 deg w/ no rain
I'd love to go to this event but unfortunately I'll have just landed on the other side of the planet. I'm up for the next one if my schedule allows. Have fun.
me as well...I'm up to my elbows in oil right now getting my baby ready. oil is changed, wheels and tires are off and brakes are getting swapped as we speak. -- Thanks pEd
well my car is in AL at APR. They are finishing up some software tweeks. They plan to get me my car back tonight. Man, I hope they do
ha. now your compy/phone is all dirty sorry guys, i was planning on riding with someone and at least hanging out. but i have errands to run tomorrow for the weekend. have fun!
you're at ped's on a weekday? man you're a slave driver! I'm ready as well. brakes are good, tires look alright, oil changed and everything emptied into a box. extra oil in trunk.
nope... I'm actually still at school Drew's doing this at his place. You guys have fun and be safe tomorrow!!
dude, let me know if you finish or feel like procrastinating :wiggle: moving out at 6:30 tomorrow to meet at micky-d's, give me a shout if you wanna join - 404.725.4868 just got back playing on r-comps and setting my xp12/10 pads :ddirty:
My photog usually has them by mid-week or so. One of the students was shooting a lot, including the AMAZING 750whp Factory Give GTM that showed up later, and of me going for a thrill ride in a 850hp C6 Z06 Siegel
Yeah...I was on track behind that thing, needless to say it was gone. I felt like I had pretty good lines and was running pretty strong, but I've never seen anything pull like that car. I took a few shots, but I was driving a lot as well, here's the link to my pictures. The 850 whp vette is the black one w/ the meanest looking hood you've ever seen (not the one w/ the wing). That green car, btw, put down something like 750 at wheels, and only weighed something like 1700 lbs, iirc. Oh, it was also only 33" tall - WTF
It was a super nice day to be at the track. I had a lot of fun. I think everyone learned something yesterday.
Its a kit car kinda, Factory Five Racing (famous for their Cobra kit cars) Builds them its called a GTM, it uses a full corvette drivetrain and suspension
Ya I just got home about 10 minutes ago. I'll post up my pictures as soon as I get done unpacking. If I can figure out how, haha.
