( parts ordered )!!! Please help me out choosing a clutch kit for my car

Yes like the title says, please give me some ideas. My sti is an 04. Right now is stage II. My future goals are a gt 52 or a rotated 30r kit to be close to 400whp no meth. I like act and kartboy. My car is dd and i really want something reliable. It is my everyday car. no track just a street car.

    Kartboy, yes...ACT, No.

    I myself prefer Exedy.

I had an ACT clutch in my car for about 6 months. Something about it wasn't right. I didn't like the way it felt or grabbed. Went back to an Exedy and have been happy

Kartboy is awesome, get the super shifter set as I did which includes all the bushings which makes every shift direct and crisp. Turninconcepts carries them : link

I think I have a ACT stage 2, not exactly sure since it's been so long but the clutch feels fine.

I have never had problems with ACT clutches in the past 10 years. If you are seriously planning on going 400+ whp, you will probably want the HD Pressure Plate with a Sprung 6 Puck Disc.

We have installed around 50 or so ACT clutches in STi's without one single complaint or issue. I also run an ACT racing clutch in my TA car and it has worked perfectly.

Me personally do not mind the chatter and I would rather be safe than sorry. I honestly have no clue if the HD PP and organic disk will hold that much power.

that's why i don't know wish one to buy. Right now my car is doing 290 whp and i was told that it was going to be overkill if i get the 6 puck sprung kit because the hp. Also i want durability out of the clutch because like i said it my dd and i don't want to worry for a long time

COBB is the second best shifter available (IMHO)

didnt you have a miss matched pressure plate though? or was it just used.

I have had my ACT clutch for a year and still love it. We put it in when I did my 2.5 swap.

that was 9 months ago homie....going on 10.

    I had a paired ACT and a mismatched ACT/SPEC clutch...both were crap.

best was my Exedy Stage 2 with matching flywheel and pressure plate

I've had an ACT street clutch for the last 2-3 years and like it a lot. I imagine you'll probably want to go a little heavier duty than that with 400hp. But yeah, I would definitely recommend ACT.

    Sent you a Private Message.

But I would suggest running ACT 6 Puck Sprung if you are going to add Major HP to the vehicle. The pedal pressure isn't too bad. I haven't seen any issues with them.

ACT clutches are superior to Exedy. For the power level you are thinking, go with a 6 puck sprung ACT.
