Hey all, I've been on this site for a while but just recently got my Legacy GT (from Walter here on the board) and I need to get some warranty/recall work done on it. I am located in Auburn, AL and I'd prefer not to drive to Atlanta or Birmingham if I don't have to. Columbus is about an hour from me so it'd be great if I could get the work done there without hassle and without them fubaring my car. The things I need done are the cooling fan relay recall and to have one or both of my rear wheel bearings replaced (which are under warranty for 100K miles.) If Columbus is no good, does anyone have a recommendation for a good dealership in the ATL area where I can get these things done? Thanks in advance for the replies. Here's a picture for fun.
I stopped in there for a oil filter once. Seemed like anice place granted I didn't run into a lot of people. Besides if they mess something up they'll fix it.
Thanks for the replies! I guess I will try them out. I just don't want to take my car to them and then they tell me the roar from the back is from 'worn tires' or something like that. I agree the jobs are very simple ones (I wish they could give me the parts so I could do it myself  ) but I have a distinct phobia of stealerships. Half of the Mitsubishi dealerships (the ones that are left) deny that Mitsu ever made the VR-4
I searched around briefly but didn't find anything on Columbus. Anyway, I dropped the Legacy off this afternoon with a nice guy named Lee at the dealership. Hopefully everything will go smoothly, he seemed to think it would not be a problem getting those rear wheel bearings replaced. There was an 05 Outback in their shop with the exact same problem.
Well, I had a customer recently who went there to get a VF48 installed. They told him he needed a Sti oil feed line (the one that goes to the AVCS also) for his WRX. I got on the phone and TOLD the tech that he did not need that and that it would not work. He proceeded to tell me he had been working on Subarus for years and knew that was what he needed. I tried to tell him but he would not listen. Long story short, they got the line and of course it did not work and they ended up doing what I told them initially...so I guess make up your own mind on it, lol.
Thanks for the info. There's no way in hell I'd ever take my car to the dealership to get any upgrades put on but I'll certainly keep what you said in mind
yeah those tasks should be straightforward, and should be super easy for a dealer to do without error. But really i replied to poke u about selling me maxima sometime in future lol
Well I got my Legacy back yesterday after dropping it off on Wednesday afternoon. Overall I was very pleased with the service I received from Columbus Subaru. They replaced the rear wheel bearings with pretty much no questions asked and no other BS. I'd highly recommend them to anyone who's considering taking their car their for routine maintenance.
