240Atlanta just did one last weekend. i will be working all weekend. otherwise i'd ride with someone...
As your luck would have it, I've rented the 10 person cabin on Blood Mountain. I'll be up there Friday-Sunday. So now you have a destination. And if anyone would like to stay the night we have room and beer. I'm pulling the supermoto up... Maybe I'll ride while you guys drive...
so Saturday looks like the best date and early AM seems to work. How about we drive around and meet up at Mike's place for a grill out? Mike, are you down? don't let us invite ourselves though
Everyone is welcome! Bring it on! It "sleeps 10" but that means we can fit about 30... I'm going to be there Friday noon and leaving Sunday noon. If you know the Blood Mountain Store and A.T. mail depot, the cabin is walking distance from that. I'm either getting 2 30 packs of beer or a keg plus a TON of liquor.... and we have plenty of space for anyone that wants to stay the night. I'm taking the Forester up with a trailer of a few supermoto bikes. Depending on when you get there I'll either be on two wheels or four. Either way, I'm ready to roll. I'm PMing Gotsol with my number so he can call when you all are close. And if you want to make the cabin a rally point I think it's the only cabin on the uphill side of the road up/over blood mountain. IIRC the driveway is just out of one of the U-Turns near the top.... And as a bonus, if you don't already know the roads up there, I went to school at Young Harris so I lived on these roads for two years. I know a few incredible routes...
I'm down for swinging by the cabin for a bit but since I'm riding that's up to sean. And I work friday and sunday so can't stay or anything. But definitely wanna drop by.
Sean, which are you doing, this run or the off roading thread you started? I'm torn between the two...what to do, what to do...
ill see if i can come now that im back in town..but since i just moved in idk if ill have the cash... plus i just put in a new clutch and now i have a boost leak so im tring to track it down ill stay tuned for more details it "67 long branch" the walmart in dahlonega?
Hey ev3ryone What's up peoples. I'm Nathanael. I'm a 25 year old freshman at KSU. I was at Quiznos the other day and saw a sweeeet Subaru Wagon, it was blue. I asked the driver if he ever took it off road or rally racing, he responded with a smile, "Just got back last weekend." I was overjoyed. I asked him where I could go to find out more about these off road crusades, and he pointed me to WRXAtlanta. So I joined up! I don't personally own a WRX, or any car for that matter. But I am a FREAK for all things rally and drift racing, especially of the Subaru variation. Nothing like a power house with fourwheel action. Don't laugh, but I learned the science behind driving by playing Gran Tourismo and other mathematically based simulation games. Started when I was 14 with the first Gran Tourismo, and as the game has become more and more realistic, my driving abilities have also improved. I took my knowledge of the digital track and applied it to the real world when my friends said, "There is a big difference between the game and the real world." They were right in only two ways; Adrenalin and G-Force effect. Other then that, I learned everything there is to know about racing via the digital realm. Everything from apex, weight distribution, proper braking into and accelerating out of corners, proper under/oversteer correction, clutch and acceleration control while drifting, sweet-spot gear shifting, hand brake application; All of these things I learned via simulations. Anyway, I was wondering if I could ride shotty this weekend or at some point in the future with you guys. I would like nothing more then to power slide through a dusty corner at the very edge of reason and excitement. Feed my need for speed...please! I live at KSU, so if any of you guys are up for picking me up and letting me go along for the ride I'm more then happy to throw down for some gas money. Thanks in advance! Nathanael
whoo hooo I made it back in town. Its been one heck of a few days. I went on a short ride last weekend and saw a few subies up there as well. I am looking forward to going again.
okay guys, we are going to have to postpone this event. Unfortuantely they are getting really heavy rain up in the mountains. There will be too much debris and water tomorrow. So other time perhaps.
hmmm...I may still go. There's not too much going on tonight and tomorrow should be really nice. While debris may be an issue, it should still be a gorgeous day tomorrow
