Changing out my clutch this month, and the car will likely be track only (road courses, no drags) within a year. Since it will be apart anyway, should I be looking at lighter flywheels? Any recommendations?

I don't want anything that will cause problems, needs to be %100 solid when run hard.

If there is not much benefit I'll stay stock, but I figured I'd listen to those w/ experience...

I have a streetlite flywheel and have had 0 problems from it. Much easier to match revs IMHO. I think most people start running into problems with the racelite flywheels.

I'd agree with Eddie. Stay with the stock flywheel or the Streetlight. If reusing your stock flywheel, make sure you have it resurfaced.

Streetlight (13 lbs) are good. Anything less and driving really sucks. I had a Fidanza 9lb fly on the 5MT and I royally hated driving the car. You had to rev it up high to start moving.

I have the 13lb'er on my car and as coolrex said there was some bogging issues until I got the 6mt.
I would like to hear from teh STI guys as the greater torque should ease the bogging.
I thought WJM liked the 9lb fidanza...I was thinking about it for the coupe.

Yup, that looks like the one. I am sure one of the vendors on here can get you a great price on one and probably match whatever you find out there.

Trust me...I am sure it is better than what I have:) Any 6 puck clutch is going to be somewhat harsh.

I'm loving my 12lb fidanza flywheel. It does feel like my car has less low end than comparable 2.0s when you're talking 2-2.5krpm but after that its not noticeable and much more responsive for rev-matching. You really shouldnt be lugging the motor much less than 2k rpm IMO. It doesnt feel like bogging like Techlord mentioned but just that you have to get on the throttle and back off, either that or just slip the clutch and rev the motor out a bit.
