Horrible customer service at local Atlanta shop on Atlanta Road. Not very considerate of the customer only defending themselves.
Are you trying to be discreet posting on a public forum and not mentioning their name? Seriously... :|
Just say who it is. With the way the web works today, companies should be seeking out and personally addressing criticisms like this. How else are they going to know what to fix about themselves and how to fix it. This is why many companies have embraced Twitter and Facebook, so they can have direct interaction with customers and clients. For example, see twitter.com/comcastcares or the High Museum of Art fan page on Facebook. I've heard that you can actually get better customer service from Comcast on Twitter than you can through any other means.
Did you buy the Gauge from said shop? You say the gauge worked fine before but was the wrong size thread for the bung, so how do you know it was working before? Do you have any way to verify that the gauge itself is not defective? What kind of Gauge, IE Autometer, Defi, etc...? I can tell you from personal experience that a lot of the Autometer Gauges are pretty crappy. They are cheap and break randomly. My EGT stopped working recently after working great for 2 years. I know it is the Gauge and not the sensor because the Gauge constantly reads 13 whatevers and never moves. If the Sensor was bad, i would think it would constantly read at 0 as getting no signal. If a company installs something in your car that they did not sell you, you return to them after install because gauge is not working, they verify their part of the install is correct and advise you to check your wiring or whatever part of the install you did, you do that and are sure the wiring is correct, then I don't see how this is bad customer service. I would first and foremost, send the gauge back to get a replacement as the original sounds like it is defective. You could also see if anyone else has a similar gauge that you could plug in to see if it works. You are complaining about poor customer service when the service you described was actually pretty good. I am glad you haven't posted the shops name because based on what you are describing, the shop did nothing wrong, so you would be wrongfully slandering a shop without being sure they have any part in your problems.
