July 12th Mountain Run & BBQ

    Well it's time to get the list going. My in box is cleared out. We will be meeting at the WalMart at 845. Leaving there around 9:15. Also I think the best way to do this is everyone chip in $5 per person and Dana and I will break away and go get the food and supplies. This way we don't have to worry about someone not showing, and also stuff not flying around our cars. So shoot me a pm if you are planning on coming.

    Turn left to merge onto GA-400/US-19 N 25.6 mi
    Turn left at S Chestatee/GA-249/GA-60/US-19
    Turn right at GA-60/Morrison Moore Pkwy E/US-19
    Turn right at Walmart Way


    Wal-Mart Supercenter

    We will be splitting up into groups so begginers can get used to the roads, and veterans can do their thing. And yes the roads to get to the place where we do the BBQ are the same that we do our runs on.

    How about monday july 13th? Too close? I think early morning weekday is
    the best bet if you don't want 1) the popo and 2) bikers (both kinds).
    Actually it could be any early monday morning :D

    The build should finish mid-june.
    Nathan is the guy doing the swap for me. He's already swapped his ls1 in a NA.

    Sumner? The purple barney LS1? His car is pretty tight...and quite, too, to have an LS1 in it.

    Edit: Yup, just watched the video...he got second behind Matt / Doug at the Santa Run this past year...he's a test driver for GM (i think) and Wreck Racing at GT. He's pretty freaking sick - you should see him in his mini at auto-x events...

    I know some of them but not all. I have ran 60 a few times as well as 19. Not all that familiar with 180 though but I think I know which one that is.

    I would be more than happy to lead the beginner group. If anyone has extra radios please bring them!
    Also I'm sure oneIguy will start a to bring list for the cook out ;). Put me on the list for a couple of cases of water.

    the miata is under the knife as we speek, getting a new crank installed. it will most likely be ready by then.

    So, am I to assume that this is good BBQ? Where is the BBQ on the loop? I have driven 60 up to Suches a few times but only drove 180 once. I don't recall much of anything being on the route. I am curious to know where the food is located.

    Hmmm, I've got a Cabin on 52 for those that want to make it a two day trip we can do the whole bonfire thing and sing campfire songs...

    Cabin Sleeps 8 comfortably.....214 very uncomfortably

    Theres lots of space on the floor if you guys bring sleeping bags, theres even a screened in porch on the back if its really nice out. Just post up if you want to stay at the cabin so I can keep a running tally of who all is going to be there.
