Friend told me of a shell station that has a 100oct pump. Gonna check it out proally tommorow or saturday. Anyone know of any other Hi-Oct pumps?
damn... 5.49/gal ??? i wonder how much extra horse i can get by using 100 oct gas with my stock turbo.
damn that's expensive sh*t... too bad, i'd love to run it. maybe before i do one of scott's racing schools . ran 100oct on my old miata once, boy did she love that stuff.
correct it burns colder than 93 so there is less chance of detonation at higher than norm boost levels.
of course assuming that he's running lower than 20lbs boost on the stocker to begin with. anything higher and the little snail will become escargot in short order. jt, love your kermit sig... lol!
ah yes... a casualty of too much green... i've seen this before, mhmm... very sad state indeed. (casually stuffs gonzo outfit back into closet) (edit) well this thread is jacked to hell too now...
I've been to that Crabapple Shell a few times over the years. BE CAREFUL, they run leaded in the unleaded pump and he will tell you it's unleaded. Check your exhaust tip after a few hard runs. It's the soot is grey, it's leaded. Oh and the Kangaroo gas station at the Hwy 53 Exit 12 off I-985 has 100 oct as well.
you will probably not notice a diff. if you just put 100oct in the car. The diff. will be if your car is tuned for it. I think that if you just run higher octane with out tuning for it you can lose performance. with that said I fix AC's for a living not cars :dunno .
No, there is something in your fuel tank that changes how the engine runs with higher or lower octane...i have proof somewhere but the other fourm i go to is down...
Go to the Oakwood/Road Atlanta exit off on 985. It is exit 16 (16 miles up from 85). Once you get off, it is the first station on your right (Citgo).
