I left for a 3k mile road trip with my fiance and decided that we would take her car and i left mine in GA. It sat for about 7 or 8 days and when i came back and started it up it started shaking and knocking but it went away about 3 seconds after. some smoke came out the exhaust and the steering wheel was shaking as well. It runs perfect now, it was only on that startup. any ideas?

If it does it again I'd worry. I've noticed Subarus will do this when something drastic and totally unroutine happens. I drove an entire tank non stop on cruise control and had that happen when I started after refilling. Saw someone else post about it happening to them too. No biggie.

My car did the same thing after sitting for 5 days. I wouldn't worry about it.

    Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8330/4.5.0.77 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/105)

Maybe its the Subaru having a temper tantrum for you leaving it.

Just starting it periodically would be good. But a drive around the block once a week or so would not hurt things. Best to keep the seals lubricated and prevent them from drying out. Good luck and be safe over there!!!
