    BOV and CAI.

Jokes...has the 60K been performed? Does it need pads, rotors, fluids? Or, sign up for the next Scott Siegel driving school and learn your car.

Plus, you can probably pick up a set of sways with the left over money after buying the Cobb AP.

    With $500 go with nothing.

Put it up for sale and get yourself an Evo or something. Subies aren't worth it. LOL

Welcome to the board. I have to agree that engine management and an up pipe is a great place to start. The Cobb APv2 is the engine management of choice for the Subarus. If you ever have any questions feel free to call or pm me.

I liked it alot. John Stahl is a really good teacher. I wish he had been the instructor the entire time I was there. The program is definitely worth it.

Like all wrx, the tranny can be a weak point. Other than that till you start really pushing them, they are fairly reliable.

In a MAF system like our cars you are releasing air to the atmosphere (with a vent to atmosphere BOV) that has already been accounted for by the ECU. So the ECU is still injecting fuel for that air (that is now gone from the intake) which can make it run quite rich between shifts. In the stock bypass valve it recirculates this air back into the turbo inlet tube so it never leaves the intake tract. Some are worse than others though. Some of the hybrid (part recirc, part vent to atmosphere) are not as bad. It will still create rich conditions between shifts, but not quite as rich as a full atmospheric bov.

I actually read an article which compared a bpv and a bov on the dyno and found that with the vent to atmosphere bov you actually lost a bit of horsepower in between shifts when compared to the bpv...it was minimal though.
