I'd be interested in 35% up front and 20% in the rear of my 09 2.5i Wagon/Hatch (I want to keep my infant as cool as possible), if you are willing to do that.
If there is still anyone with any reservations: Dean does excellent work, I had him tint the STi back in March of 07. I have had zero issues whatsoever! Before photos Application / Install Results
I thought we clarified the existing loophole for vehicles equipped with 4x4 / AWD that functioned as dual purpose vehicles and thus could have "privacy" tint.
That's for the GA law. It's not 100% clear, however, if it were to go into court, I would be willing to bet a free tint job that it wouldn't work for your vehicles. The way the law is meant to be interpreted is that the vehicle could literally go off-road. WRX's are not meant for true off-road use. They're designed for rallying, sure, but rallys have a clear road laid out for traversing, it's just usually not asphalt. However, there are plenty of roads that aren't asphalt and therefore the material can't be what constitutes an actual road. Off-road use would imply the ability to literally go off a contained or laid out path.
The problem is a fail to see how any Subaru is excluded from that category. A four wheel driven platform should not be limited in this sense in my opinion. I realize that the law is vague but I fail to see how the Subaru is excluded. If I were to place "off road" tires of my car does it then qualify as an off road vehicle? Or does "off road" imply that the vehicle is not street legal?
The WRX is quite simply not designed for off-road use and does not come with equipment for it. It is designed for rally racing. AWD does not constitute off-road equipment in all circumstances. Not to mention that the WRX's (even in Wagon form) do not constitute a truck and do not have the light truck tax exemption from the government. Many variables here which simply don't play in favor of these things being included under the Multipurpose Vehicle definition.
Confirmation Ok, for confirmation purposes and so that I know who will be showing and how many days I need to set aside, how much film, etc... I'm going to ask that anyone that wants to come to this event, please PM me and let me know what type of car you are bringing and if you have any ideal preference for time. You will not be considered coming unless you PM me by Wednesday, June 3rd Do not reply to this thread for anything other than questions. Preference for a time are only a preference and I'm not guaranteeing you that time.
I was wondering how much for whatever the legal limit is on just my back window & sunroof on bmw 330i sunroof too if you dont mind
I would be down but I have to work on Sat.. and sunday I will be out on my new boat (hopefully). But if you'd guys like to come by the shop and do the installs there... I am all for it I will even break out the easy up tent for some shade.
Just wanted to speak up - I organized last year's event and couldn't be happier with the result. 35% really is the perfect darkness, and the 5% on the sunroof is fantastic. Best mod I've done yet. The tint has no bubbles, runs, or other issues (aside from where I've messed it up), and keeps LOTS of heat out. I did want to speak up and say that I opted for the metallic tint and noticed a significant reduction in my stereo's reception. I used to get way the hell out in Alpharetta before WRAS would get fuzzy, and now it gets spotty if I'm OTP. I don't mind it very much, but do be warned.
Yeah, I think so - I brought the Saabaru and am pretty sure I'm the only one who didn't opt for the ceramic film.
For those that are coming tomorrow, please bring cash only. I do not accept credit cards or personal checks for tint day events.
