Okay so this a feeler thread to see what folks on here might be driving other than a Subaru. Not a basic daily driver or a fantasy car but your ideal performance daily driver or weekend driver project vehicle that is within a realistic budget range and not just a track car. I personally like the Evo 9, or the new Camaro which is surprisingly not a wallet killer.
Wirelessly posted (My Phone) When I finally move back to Japan...1999 Nissan Skyline GT-R BNR34 V.Spec II "NüR" Got a ride in one for about 15 minutes. Edit: Notice I said "when" and not "if" = not a fantasy.
been looking at lotus elises lately. might pick one up depending on if I go back to school or not that and an E30 M3.
This. 350hp V8, rear drive, can fit seriously big ass rear tires, six speed, and they're like 20k now? Yes please.
I know I couldn't. RX-7 is great but as Coolrex stated, they take a ton of cash to keep running. To go along with the E46 M3, the C63 AMG would be another car high on my list.
Yeah, M3 pricing really varies based on where you are in the US. I know the E46 is about $5-10K more in this area than out west in like California. I did a quick search one day and found several E46's for the mid $20K range in California but similar cars here were $30K+.
I'd like to drive a clean and built E30 BMW, or sprinkle magic dust on the Merkur and turn it into a Cosworth Sierra.
Huge front tires as well, its easy to fit 315s on all 4 corners and you can pick up one for 14K if you look really hard My Supra was by far my favorite daily driver, the car looks good it rides nice and it really moves on the highway. Best road trip car ever if its just you and the wife. If you can afford it now is a good time to buy them I think prices have pretty much bottomed out. As long as you never do anything crazy to it you shouldn't ever lose any money on one either.
After Driving Jacks C6 Z06 at little tally the other day I would love to have one. Its really hard to make yourself drive a 70k dollar car as hard as it needs to be driven though.
I would have to go with a Ford Fairmont or Mercury Zephyr. No one would steal it and the suspension is all Fox body for an easy swap. How embarrassing would it be to have one blow your doors off? Love sleepers and this would be the one.
'65 GTO with a blown 455. Oh wait I already got that one.... hm... How about that subaru powered thingus that was reveiwed on topspeed, I cant recall the maker, but it wont be produced. It was built by a race car company, who did it as a technical possibilities display. Damn thing had some crazy computer controlled driveline that really improved handling, shoulda been like an 80k car if I recall... Cant for the life of me remember the name of it.
I have been looking at a bunch of diesels lately... so far a 1999 Mercedes 300E sounds like a good platform to start with (except no manual!). I would love to get a new BMW 3 series diesel, but those only come in sedan and auto at the moment. Other than that: I have always had wanted an LS swapped FD RX7 S2K is always a solid choice I have really started looking at the 2005 Cadillac CTS-V (they have the 5.7L motor instead of the 6.0L but they are like $22k now)... I think I would take one of these over a corvette any day!

V70R 2004-2007- Quirky and cool- I like the lines s13 w/ ls1- Duh. ITR- Always liked these- one of the better handling FWD cars ever K04'ed B5 S4- and I thought my 1.8T A4 needed lots of repairs hardy-har-har But seroiusly I have it. 2005 LGT wagon w/ 5 speed. They are as rare as leprechauns and unicorns. The only faster Subaru is a Spec B. My car is even better than Integroid's (when Chuck Norris is driving it).
Audi S4 (the 2.7 tt version) I'd love to have a nice interior and quite ride. Something I'm never going to have in the WRX.
Granted I haven't seen one in at least a decade but the perfect sleeper is the old '85 Ford LTD II LX with the 351 Windsor. They had the variable venturi 4-barrel that at WOT sounded like a screaming Eaton Super Chicken. GSP used these until the Mustang coupes came out in police issue.
1999 Miata with a 420hp LS6 swap Looks like a nice miata until I blip the throttle and "nice" suddenly becomes "nasty"
haha. A steady right foot and I've got some years under my belt which keeps me from running with the ricers that pull up next to me. Plus I've got wife and kids so I don't go past 7/10ths except at the track Here are some recent videos from the track http://videos.streetfire.net/video/Swaptastic-LS6-Miata-Day_692805.htm http://chows.smugmug.com/gallery/8689054_SKZkh#574312783_AWeKb
If you can drive the Atom around for several months without killing yourself, I would expect you could drive anything.
