k well i talked to everyone on here not to long ago about my cars overheating problem, and my mechanic has looked everything over... and it doesn't look good... he noticed the fact that there was bubbles in the tank where u add coolant at... rapid, small groups under open throttle... and here is what that means... cracked heads or blown head gasket... ... so now onto my next question... will the dealership say anything to me since the up-pipe is still the factory one but its gutted? will this cause me any problems getting warranty work done? how are these related if so? and, if need be, does anyone have a factory uppipe i could buy? i think i can get on myself, i saw tom and mike do it, but i dont have one...
I've got a factory UP if you want it. Regarding the dealership, take your car to SoG. If your UP was gutted properly (ie smooth as a baby's bottom on the inside with no cat residue) then there is no reason why the UP should be at fault. Agreed? Just out of curiosity, did tom or mike put your gutted UP in your car?
yeah tom and mike did it, it was silky smooth so it should be cool right? and no i dont have scotts number, but i'll give calling the dealership and asking for him a shot, wish me luck lol
make sure when you take your car in its full of coolant! just so they dont come after you for not maintaining the car properly. sorry to hear bout your luck.
I would still check the lines ontop of the coolant tank, that sounds exactly like what happens when they are switched. Matt
they havent been touched at all unless it was b4 i got it and i have had the car for about 4 months, plus i just had my mechanic check over all that too, so the lines shouldn't be a problem... oh and my roadside assitance ran out at 36,000 miles (i got 41,500) so i have to pay up front for towing and then get reimbursed later by SOA... how much do u guys think it would be for a car to get towed from gainesville to troncalli or SOG? it would be between 25 and 30 miles on a rollback... i wish i could have good luck in my life just for once ....
i can pm you my AAA mebership number and you can use that if you want i get free towing and they know when i call they need a flat bed! let me know. normaly they never ask for my id or anything when the driver comes out to tow the car. :ugh:
lol, thanx anyways JT, but i goin to get it towed and checked out at SOG prolly this weekend, if i have time to... that has been my biggest problem lately, not having time to fool with it... but it should cost about 100 bucks to get it towed and 95 to get it checked out, so i will be out that much straight off, then if its under warranty i can get everything back in a matter of time oh and thanx for the number milo, gave the dealership a call b4 i got ur pm and talked with him, he sounds like a good guy.
Hey, I just put mine in the shop at the end of August to an overheating problem. I just had the Radiator replaced like 3 weeks before...and the coolant was bubbling up and stuff. They are having to redo the gaskets and heads. My car is at Royal Subaru and its been there for a minute. I hope to get it back today. So I feel your pain 110%... Oh yea i only got 40K on mine!
Well they said that it might be ready today...I'll Keep on holding my breath until i eventually pass out!!
Did they forget to bleed the air out of it after replacing the radiator? If you get an air pocket anywhere in the engine it causes a hot spot and can cause big overheating problems.
