I think y'all are going to have to count me out. Gold rush day is the same weekend and there are supposed to be over 200,000 visitors in dahlonega. I heard from a local that there will be tons of copsand a lot more loof lookin than driving .http://www.dahlonega.org/index.php/festivals/162-gold-rush-days.html However, I'll make sure to try to set up a mtn run in the next few weeks as soon as I fix my check engine light.
Yep, Dahlonega will be crowded. The Home Depot parking lot at the end for 400 might be a good secondary meeting spot as the parking at Wal-Mart will be crowded. You can bypass Dahlonega by going north on Long Branch Rd (the road heading north at the end of 400) and turning left at the traffic light. It puts you out just north of town on Hwy 60.
Ehh I don't think so. I think the walmart is far enough out of the downtown hussle and bussle that the parking should be ok. I mean that parking lot is huge and I've never seen it more than half full.
Alright you buzzkills, we won't be in dahlonega, so who cares about that? That just means less manpower on the roads in an out of town, though the traffic volume may be a little higher it should be a good run regardless.
lol, well maybe someone could get there super early and post up or redirect people to the home depot if its bad....?? i mean i dont have a problem meeting at the home depot, its just a matter of whether or not we can corral everyone over there btwn now and then. chances are someone wont check this thread btwn now and sunday

Just as a heads up, avoid the square at all costs! Traffic will be a nightmare in Dahlonega because of Gold Rush Days. It should be fine once we get out of the city. My friend in his R32 will still be coming(I was originally going to ride with him) and I will be in the yellow truck. I'll head out a little before the rest to get the camera set up for when you roll by.
