    Hey all!

    Here is a fuc*ed u situation

my car was running great for a while... 18.1 psi on stock turbo, tuned blah blah

all of a sudden, as soon as i hit the gas, the abs light would blink on, my headlights would flicker, my amps go into protect mode and my farad is shows like 16 volts .. this happens when i hit the gas ..... and when im off the throttle, everything is nominal.

now this happened at like 830pm... i drove it around for about 20 minutes before.. the car was acting up but none of the over voltage stuff.... it was going to 18.1 psi but it didnt feel like it.... i believe the alternator is causing this

.... thats the only conclusion i have..... It was running great before... the story on the alternator.. it was the stock 85 amp alternator off a 2.2 or 2.5 legacy non turbo.. now on a turbo motor... i dont know if thats what killed it
    ?? any suggestions

THEN.. the weird problem.... ... .. so I have been on an open turbo since the tunshop and it runs great ( i DO not drive it ..more than like 2 hours a week) and i had a power steering reservoir in the way... so i converted it to an actual wrx power steering system.. the pump and reservoir... that way i could get an intake on it....

so la la ...here i go, made an intake............... and ZERO BOOOST as it is on the turbo.. i mean.. my gauge goes from -30vac to a DEAD zero.. the car feels fully naturally aspirated.... and as soon as the intake is off... BAM it starts boosting

wtf..... there is NO MAF.... it has a megasquirt ecu... fmic..... 700cc injectors... 260whp... blah blah

why would a turbo not make boost with an intake on it.... you can leave the car on... pull the intake off, and it boosts.... there is no clogs in any pipes......

    re boost help

    Got the alternator fixed

but here is the problem now

with no intake, the turbo spools perfect to 18 psi
with an intake installed, it doesnt boost at all .. 0 psi

why would an intake take boost away..it feels natural aspirated

Im not so sure about your problem. But might be your MAF that went out, something isn't plugged in as it should be.

LOL, loosen your air filter and slide it down the tube, you have the tubing smashed up against the end of the airfilter and it can't get any air.......just a guess

I agree. Do this. Leave the piping intact. Take just the filter. See if it boosts. If so the filter is getting pinched or blocked by the piping. The piping should not but protruding into the filter at all....just on the inlet/clamp area.
