If I get an Ecu reflash (via ECUtek) from PDXtuning, will custom dyno tuners be able to tune the setup without installing their own ECUtek software?

The only reason I ask is that I would be able save from the intial ECU install from a custom tuner. Basically, I would get the stock ECU reflash from PDX (about $700), then use a custom tune for any additional modifications in the future, assuming of course that this kind of route is possible/a good idea.

    Thanks a bunch. :)

Why not spend the $700 at a local ECUtek tuner and get the first hour of tuning for free.

    That is a wise decision.

Of course, that would be the best option, but I thought topspeed or SOG were the only (quality) ones around here.

The only reason I'd do PDX is to save money. But if a local tuner would do the same thing for the same amount or even a little more, it'd be worth it.

i believe both topspeed and SOG wont be able to sell ecutek under 850... remember, that does include some tuning

Not sure about TS's, but I know SoG's EcuTek tuning by SS includes 2 hours of tuning.

Thanks for the info. I did not know that the initial ECUteking included some tuning also. Pretty much clears that up.

The shops all have their own proprietary maps also that they tweak each customer's engine off of.
