LOL, just got an email back from them. Interesting concept, Ill update this thread after I speak with them tomorrow.
The reason you have to pay is because it is a scam. If it were real there would be no payment involved. Think about it for a second.
I pulled the below from another site discussing this event. "I worked for a few NBC shows as a freelance editor. Stephan Condodemetraky is a producer i don't know. honestly their web page does not mention NBC - just reality tv. if u have a copy of that email - i can forward it to a friend of mine at the network and confirm with you all. pm me. As reference a production company will not ask you for money up front! never. ever. they'll have you come in and do an on screen for casting and contact you later if producers decide to go with you. if anything they will compensate you for being on camera during an actual filming of the show. Sounds to me a person has an idea and is fronting as a network series to attract people to help them in filming. or scamming. DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY!!! NBC they will pay for any cost pertaining to a filming!!! if this email is real, no cost would be involved. also here's a link to show's that NBC has current for reality. http://www.thefutoncritic.com/devwat...eality&studio= this link is a reference that comes from the trade papers - not all productions are listed but you get an idea. as you can see there is no new slate for reality tv on NBC for the last year. You'll get Biggest Loser, Apprentice, and America's Got Talent and those are the bread winners for NBC right now. end of story. close this thread."
I've done several reality shows at this point and they pay you, not the other way around. This sounds like someone who wants to make a show that hasn't been pitched yet and needs the production money for the concept. Not to mention this quote from their site: "At this time, the Robin Hood Rally has selected the National Broadcasting Company (NBC) as the National Venue for airing our Reality TV Series." They don't select the venue in which it will broadcast. NBC would pick them if they liked the concept and they would be given a budget by NBC. I think if it were as easy as picking where you want your show to air, I'd have a show by now and so would a lot of others.
sounds like one hell of an idea...the prizes might have given it away too. Maybe the ferrari as 1st place but where would the money for the porshe come from for 2nd?
