We got an invite from Nissan Motorsports and Grassroots Motors to compete in the 2010 Ultimate Track Car Challenge on Friday, July 23rd at VIR. This is going to be a blast! Our GT-R is going under the knife with some fancy larger turbos (finally), twin walbro's, ID 2000 Injectors, and E85. :naughty: I can't wait to see what our competitors bring to the show.
Have fun out there... unfortunately it falls on the same dates as my vacation so we won't be attending.
Florida was a tuning trip but my family just happened to come with... but every year Leh and I throw a party at a beach house and it just happens to fall on this date. I am sure we will see you at Sebring though for the RTA event. And yeah... vacations are much needed in this kind of line of work. Otherwise everything becomes very monotonous.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact: Andy Reid, Senior Editor Grassroots Motorsports TEAMS PREPARE FOR PIRELLI ULTIMATE TRACK CAR CHALLENGE PRESENTED BY GRASSROOTS MOTORSPORTS Fourth Annual Magazine Competition Attracts Top Teams and Sponsors Less than a month remains until Grassroots Motorsports magazine throws down the gauntlet at the Pirelli Ultimate Track Car Challenge, which is set for July 23 at Virginia International Raceway. Now in its fourth year, the UTCC seeks to answer a very simple question: Who has the fastest track car in the country? The event will pit a wild assortment of speed machines against each other on the beautiful-and fast-full course at VIR. Although the format uses a simple, "run whatcha brung" approach that discards the usual confusing and complicated racing classes for a more straightforward shooting match, some of the expected attendees are decidedly more exotic. Forged Performance is just one of the 60 teams who have already submitted applications to battle it out for the "Ultimate Track Car" title. Their Nissan GTR is a 500-plus horsepower, fully race-prepped monster that can usually be found duking it out at Redline Time Attack Events. (Oh, and that horsepower rating? It's at the wheels.) The Nissan won’t go unchallenged, though; it’ll be sharing the track with Dodge's ACR-X, a Viper built into a factory turnkey racer that brings 640 hp of its own to the party. It would be unwise, however, to discount some of the genius privateer efforts that are drawn to the UTCC. One of the event’s standout offerings is the chance to see talented race car builders and drivers duel on track against factory teams. Glenn Bunch's ground-pounding classic Hemi Challenger is a usual crowd favorite from this group. Click here to see other UTCC hopefuls at CarDomain.com Winners will be featured in the pages of Grassroots Motorsports magazine, but there's more than bragging rights at stake here for all of the competitors: Thousands of dollars in cash and merchandise contingency prizes will be offered by HRE Wheels, Chrysler and AEM Products. Other sponsors include CarDomain, Exedy Racing Clutch, Koni, Safe Racer, Stop Tech, and Red Line Oil. Last call for entry into the event is just a few days away on June 15, so if you have an ultimate track car, head to http://grassrootsmotorsports.com/events/UTCC2010/ to find out how you can place your bid for an invitation. You don't have to be a race car driver to check it out: Spectators are welcome at the July 23 event, and admission to Virginia International Raceway is just $10 at the gate. Again, check out grassrootsmotorsports.com/ for all the latest details on the event. Event Sponsors: ________________________________________
