i have a 03 wrx, put a stage 2 Competition Clutch in it about 5k miles ago. since then ive had it dynoed and had a stage two map installed. ive pit about 1k miles on it since. the problem im having is my clutch is starting to lose pressure while driving, the more i goose it the less pressure i have, but returning to neutral the pressure returns. Has anyone ever incountered this before? whats the problem and how do i fix it?
SLAVE cylinder is for the clutch, master is for the brakes, to the left of the brake fluid reservoir you will see another little round yellow cap, that will be your slave cylinder reservoir. Check the fluid, fill with brake fluid.
I would venture to say the slave and that's almost as bad as a pressure plate. PITA to bleed properly
my release bearing fork spring on top of the tranny was missing, hopefully replacing this will resolve the issue. my fluid was full and no leakage by the way. thanks for the responses and will keep updated to let yall know if this fixxes the problem.
that spring is worthless. The amount of pressure the plate and setup puts on your shift fork is more than enough to return it to position. Actually, when the clutch is engaged, the spring is closed / shortest / less tense (however you want to say it), and when the clutch is full depressed the spring is stretched farthest. The spring is actually there to assist the clutch fork being engaged...but again, doesn't do jack shit
