Mere and I are going out there on Sunday. We will come back from the Subaru Challenge on Saturday night. We are driving there now, and I borrowed a SprintPCS wireless card from work. She will run the STi in A-stock, and I will run my CRX in CSP in the morning and TO in the afternoon. Mere will have her pink wheels on her car -- Brian
Good luck up in NC. I may swing by. What time are you guys running Brian. Love to do a ride along if that is allowed
yea i am working till 12 noon but i was thinking of coming straight from work. what time does it start this time?
Dang, I was going to try to go after I found out about it today. Oh well, it's too late to sign up. Definitely gonna try to go to the one at Turner Field though. That's right down the road.
You just have sign a wavier to spectate or ride along. I open a huge can of suck-age at the subaru challenge. My kumhos are a beast that i have not yet even begun to master.
I actually already have a co-driver for morning and one for the afternoon, so I won't have any room for passengers, unless the co-driver doesn't ride with me. We will see how it works out. -- Brian
free to spectate crosseyed.....i will be there after 12 sometime. Meredith if you dont have any passengers i might hop in with ya if you like.......i wanna see the crx in actino as well.
Us Athens gangsta's will be there shortly before noon. White Evo, White 02 WRX, and Blue 04 WRX Wagon. We will park beside you guys and vice versa.
I had a blast as usual. Too bad you weren't there Milo, I think some wrxatl.com stickers is what I need to propel me into the top 3 in my class.
Thanks again wayne for helping me change out the pinkies, you were looking great out there btw! Brian's crappy crx couldn't beat my cherry blossom red wheels.
Good to see everyone out there. I didn't beat mere this time, but will try again next time 2 of my my time-only afternoons runs were faster, but they don't count. BTW: the spray paint can said pink -- Brian
good seeing you wayne, brian, and meredith as usual. Sorry i couldnt stay longer, but i did get my paper done. Was also nice meeting Todd and some of ther other guys finally. Hope to see everyone at the dyno day. BTW i really need to get into autox and get sundays off from work!
BrainGT, thanks for the 2 rides in the CRX. That little thing moves right along Hopefully I can make it out to another
No problem. I am really enjoying the CRX. Here are some pics of the event: http://mere.darg.net/scca-10-02-05 When are you going to make it to an event? -- Brian
Thanks again to Mere and Brian for being so generous and letting me finish my runs with your Sti. I hope I heated the tires up enough for you. Mere, your times were looking good out there. I dunno your fastest time but I remember one being a 46.xx. Very nice improvement!! I found out what broke on my car, it was the rear control arm bushing on the front LCA. Looks like a bolt must have fallen out at some point and I was just using one bolt instead of two, thus putting alot of stress on the part and it broke. Hopefully the LCA didn't bend. I'll have a new one here tomorrow and if things go well, it'll be back on the car tomorrow night. I'm just SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO thankful it broke at the auto-x vs at Road Atlanta this coming weekend. Here are some pics and discusssion on the subject.... http://soloatlanta.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=528
It was fun to watch and get a ride along w/ Mere! I had to leave early to go pick up my wife from the 3-day Breast Cancer Walk.
I will say there were a crap load of STi's there yesterday. Very nice turnout. For the guys that don't know me. Mine was the white one on the trailer. and thanks Milo, it looks like it will be about a $60 fix.....so far.
Trey, You are more than welcome, thanks for setting good benchmark for me. I hope you can get your JIC fixed for track day. Oh thanks Patrick for giving me some good instruction on my last run! -mere
trey man i really liked your ride A LOT i saw it right before you towed it off. I came late in a WRB bugeye with rims and exhaust. Keith came in the black sti shortly after me. I was sorry to hear about the susp when i talked to meredith and kevin. glad its nothing big.
Thanks Brian. I wanted to hang and meet all you guys rolling in late but had to get the car home. John and I removed the LCA last night and it's bent really bad. I should have it all back on the car by tomorrow night tho. Oh and Meredith, you took fastest time in ASL and for all Stock ladies. Check it out (look at the very bottom) http://soloatlanta.com/forum/index.php?act=Attach&type=post&id=25
I am glad that you can get your car fixed up easily. I was worried that your coil-over was ruined. Best of luck at Road Atlanta! I was very impressed by Mere's 46, and she beat me for the 4th autocross event in a row... I could only manage to get a 48 in the morning. In the afternoon, Jay Parcon drove my car for the first 2 runs in the afternoon and got a 45.417 and 44.106+1, which helped a lot and led me to get a couple of high 45 runs. He said that he could have probably beaten his MR-2 time with the car if he had more time with the car. I am selling him my s2k autocross wheels/tires/sway for his friend's s2k so that I can get a LSD for my CRX. I wonder how they will do in AS with the s2k. -- Brian
Hey guys, I didn't see a lot of other WRX drivers in the morning. There was one guy in STX in a Blue WRX, Mere, of course, Trey, another STi in STU I didn't know. Oh a novice with a white automatic who I gave a ride along to. The good news, I finially won STX! There will be more of that I hope. Meredith, your driving is coming along quite nicely. Good lines and braking points, now just get back on the gas earlier!
I owe it to some good instruction ! You looked awesome at both the subaru challenge and the sunday event!
gotsol - congratulations on the class win . I was the guy in the Blue WRX by the way. Sorry I didn't introduce myself as I was really excited about not being 5-7 seconds behind the class leaders!
It was good to put a couple of your screen names to faces. I took a couple pics and will post them in the AM. Trey, you have a pretty nasty looking STi. I really like the CF lip. Definitely fun watching, hopefully next time I will get involved. Oh, and thanks for letting us borrow your helmet Wayne! :wavey:
i need to get there in the morning sometime, or hey why not even get my car in the races? im in the preps for next season, and i am going to stop working on sundays!
Thanks snap! No pics of me on the trailer? Looks like I took the win in STU too with only one run. Rory beat me by 6 thousandths of a second but had to leave and not work his assignments thus was DQ'd. Sucks to take a win that way but them the rules. That gives me 8 firsts for the championship in STU. That was my goal this year. Maybe next year I'll run in ESP but the participation in that group is very low. We'll see. See you guys at the Mirrorkana #1 on the 29th.
Sorry Trey, wasn't sure if you wanted pics of her on the trailer or not. My mistake. I will take pics of her on the trailer next time... lol
