Anyone know if one of our vendors can do this for a reasonable price? ;)

I am sure topspeed, Forged, or allpro will do it for much less than dealer. I would go to allpro for that if it was my choice.

there's a decent amount of labor 'booked' for a 60k. that's why it costs so much

790 is not that bad considering it calls for a timing belt oil change and plugs. Its a little on the high side but not crazy by any means.

there's no timing belt on that list...

Yeah, timing belt = 105k according to the website.

no shit. Half of what you are paying for is "inspect". I think anyone with eyesight could do over half the things on the list.

Inspect Tranny/Differential fluid? I would think you would want to REPLACE not inspect.

    That's a lot of "inspecting" for 790

I'll do it all for you then for 300.

That include fluids? I might come to you for my 90k.

if you have no idea what you're looking for when inspecting it would definitely be a liability to do it yourself. I do agree it needs to be cheaper.

Some shop wanted to charge my grandmother like over $800 for an intake manifold gasket and I thought that was steep. (Saved her like $750 when I did it)

I'd check out Six Star. I am not a huge fan of the speed shops doing routine maintenance. I realize that it is a piece of cake; but that isn't their bread and butter. With that said, the 60k is easy peasy. The thing that takes the longest is removing the damn battery from the car and then fiddling with the god awful hold-down design to re-insert it.

just bring something to put the old oil and coolant in so you can take it with you.

I just dropped of 26 gallons of used oil and coolant the other day and don't want to do that again.

Matt Think before you post Staff Member Supporting Member

where did you take the coolant?

I have about half a gallon I need to drop off somewhere, but most places won't take it.

Just throw some used oil on top and bring to napa. they get paid by the gallon no matter whats in there. he took the 26gal to a buddies shop and there was plenty of coolant there.

What's a 60K? What's a 105K? My car never had those and ran just fine. I did keep the plugs changed and the air filter though...lol

$300 is CHEAP for that 60K.

Those are usually overrated. Only needed every 90-100K. I'm doing one soon myself.

Oh and I vastly enjoy my 10K oil change intervals :fawk:.

Anyone know where Justin's shop in Decatur is?

I have used Six Star and Justin is a great guy, just hard to reach and get to return phone calls. Can someone tell me where in Decatur to find him now that he has moved from Smyrna/Marietta.

Also, I've used Dan over at Batlground w/ good results and have been to TopSpeed, but where are ProSubaru and allpro located/phone numbers?

Six Star's now at 2670 East College Ave Decatur, GA 30030

I've never had any trouble getting Juston on the phone. And he's always been good about calling me back.

    Maybe you smell.

    Through the phone.

    Just kidding.
