http://www.tari.co.za/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl Click here to download the free program. You'll need this usb to OBDII cable to get it to log. Their next FREE release is called ecuExplorer. Here are the details for it:
Cool. Save $600 over buying delta-dash. Yet another reason for the CAR-PUTER thread! Of course delta-dash has the cool configurable interface already...
With something like this combined with a carputer, could you change ecu settings and have a "valet" or "economy" or "whatever" setup and through the touchscreen load the ecu maps, and have a delta dash type thingy, and mp3/dvd's at your beck and call???
Tari rocks. I've been using it for a while now. It works quite nicely with the OBD hackers' cable or the Cobb AccessPort cable.
AWESOME!!! I must admit I've been looking unsuccessfully for the cable... thanks for posting this. I want some of my out-of-state customers to do this and send me some logs. Thanks, SS
The reflashing stuff is not available yet. I have trouble believing that anybody will be able to make one that works for free - Ecutek has a TEAM of engineers continually working to make Ecutek work... Bobby, I meant to tell you I *ALMOST* bought an '02 WRX Wagon in white with an RA gearset... we'd have been twins (also, you're heel-and-toe image is killing me, in most cars you can move your right foot to the right a bit and use just the ball of your foot on the brake and the right side of your right foot (not just the heel) on the gas) SS
You should have, short gears rock! I cruise 75mph at 3500 turns, very streetable, and it makes highway passing very easy.
So, you can use the AP cable instead of the usb one? Cause I already have the AP cable, and all i would need would be a $20 adapter to go from the AP cable to my laptop.
Ok how hard is this to use? and can i mess anything up doing it? Ive been wanting a way to see whats going on when im driving and this seems to be the best way now that im broke.
The one I was going to buy ended up not getting sold (better for the owner). For those that know that I'm looking at that silver one from St. Louis - it turns out the car has had 4 turbos, 5 tranny's, a few diffs, 3 sets of suspension, a hacked up wiring harness for an old unichip, and a different gauge cluster for 20k miles (meaning that block has 107k on it...) I'm going to try to get it cheaper... SS
It's very easy to use, and it's highly unlikely that you'd be able to hurt anything; TARI just reads data, it won't try to poke stuff into your ECU.
Yeah, I just called the guy and told him: 5 tranny's, 4 turbos, 3 sets of suspension, 20k miles more than he thought, and a hacked wiring harness - $9800. He wouldn't take it... $12.5 is still the cheapest wagon on the net... It's DEAD SEXAY, and I don't know how much all that stuff really matters to me... SS
can't you get a carfax... i mean how many miles are on the current setup? afterall you do work for a suby dealer and can wrench your own car...
In case you guys were wanting to know, this is the adapter that Moose got for the AP cable. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=7135664&type=product&id=1110263657278
Hey... i got mine today too... I was able to view in real time, but the log files didn't seem to save... I'm going to play more tomorrow.
its pretty cool, no graphs but hey its free. it plan on running some logs this weekend. I didnt see the advance multiplier listd, could it be called something else? BTW there are tons of stuff to look at.
holy crap i got the cord fast, and there is a TON of stuff to look at. now i just need some free time...
And remember that the more data you request the slower the refresh rate will be... the OBDII port has pretty limited bandwidth.
Dang, why did I get a Mac? I can't use this! Oh well, maybe I'll temporarily steal a friend's laptop.
I put a log file up... I realized afterwards that I needed to log atmospheric pressure also to calculate boost... I'm sure thats not all I'm missing. LOG FILE
Atmospheric pressure is generally 14.7psi d00d Would you mind logging RPM, boost and a/f ratio for a WOT run in a couple gears?
