So we went up to Road A this weekend for some testing on the OneLap GT-R. The testing went well, I will post about that in the OneLap thread, however Leh had to leave town yesterday so I ran the M all day. I have more video which I may post, but this video of me rolling into turn#5 too hot is priceless. Figured you guys would enjoy it. I had just done a double session so I was on track for 50 min on street tires...they were getting a little slick to say the least (as you will see) Good times... ~Cicio

I saw RA, turn 5, roll and thought the worst. Tiny Dancer talking Cicio into doing an E92 swap in an older 3 series.
That's awesome. I showed everyone that video at work earlier and everyone agreed that they would had pissed their pants.
I actually just watched this video again, and wanted to make note that the Miata in front of me is a 230hp turboed car on slicks with good aero... Not that it matters, but I wasn't dicing it up with a spec Miata...i'm slow but not that slow I had a couple fun little catches through the day that were just good learning material, but this one for sure took the cake. People that know me will tell you i'm infatuated with learning more about driving and how to manage a car on track...so learning WHY this happened and HOW I could have prevented it was my favorite part. ~Cicio
To be honest with you I was pretty calm...I mean i'm not saying that it didn't freak me out a little cause it did, but I was just thinking the whole time about what I needed to do to save the car. I was thinking in my head that I knew I was coming into a compression zone with the hill up 5 and I needed to use that....if I stayed out of the gas and kept the suspension unloaded I knew the car was going around...there was also a E46 race car less than a foot from my back bumper which honestly broke my concentration. (newbie mistake) I figured the only way to save the car was to use the grip that was gonna be created by the car loading into the hill and stay in the throttle. As you can see on the video you can see I thought I had it saved then it tried to step even further! At that point I must say I almost just jumped out of the throttle...Thank God that I mustered the balls to stay in it. I really really really like my car and seeing a flash of her tail end into the wall in 5 makes me wanna vomit. There was a couple friends watching from the hill that said there was smoke pouring off the back tires the whole time...it must have looked pretty cool because my next lap around the 50ish people on the hill started screaming and throwing fists LOL. ~Cicio
I would love to have seen an external shot of the car doing this. Bet it looked cool and so smooth as you had it under control the entire time......I'd have planted it into the wall.....like Rick did. So that said mucho respect and kudos on pulling her out.
Not even close to the same situation. I didn't see an LS1 swapped Miata dumping brake fluid going into the turn. :| Schmuck :slap:
