Do not be rude to any member or vendor
You may not agree with something someone else has to say. If you must disagree, please do so in a civil manner. Please be courteous to others.

Do not attack other member's interests or hobbies
Not everyone likes what you like. Different peoples interests vary when it comes to movies, music, modification paths, etc. Some people may like drifting. Some may like drag racing. Some may like autocross. Just because you don't like it, it doesn't mean that nobody else should like it and it certainly doesn't give you the right to bash it.

Discrimination and Racism of any sort will not be tolerated
Members on this site may come from different religions, races, cultures, nationalities, sexual orientation, political backgrounds, etc. Please respect other’s views and beliefs.

    Be helpful to new members
Remember that all of us were new at some point. The friendly nature of this site made us want to stay. Please extend the same welcome to new members.
Some people are new to forums in general and may not know how to search, etc. Others may be new to Subarus or cars in general. Please help them out and do not embarrass them by making them feel stupid in front of the boards.

    Cursing
Cursing is fine as long as its (a) not excessive and (b) not used in an offensive manner.

Bashing any other car clubs will not be tolerated
This includes bashing other forums, etc. It is easy to feel like a cult when we all share a passion for Subarus. Do not hate on others. Realize that we work with various entities to plan our larger events.

Bashing vendors will not be tolerated
If you have a problem with a vendor, please post up in the ‘Vendor Review’ section. Please be civil while discussing your problems.

Follow the Administrator’s and Moderator’s instructions
The Administrators and Moderators work very hard to maintain order, avoid conflicts and plan events. Please follow their instructions and help them do their job.

    Sarcasm
If it is of friendly nature and among friends, then its ok. However if it has malicious intent, it will not be tolerated. What is ok and what is not will be up to the judgement of the Administrators and Moderators.

No discussion of members partaking in illegal activities
This includes drugs, alcohol consumption by minors, illegal street racing, excessive speeding, audio/video/software piracy, etc.

These rules are subject to change at any time. Action taken against offenders will depend on the seriousness of the offense, could be anything upto and including a permanent loss of viewing and posting previliges and will be up to the sole discretion of the Administrators and Moderators.

Matt Think before you post Staff Member Supporting Member

6 years later, I'm adding new rules.

Bumping threads only to sell something
If you bump threads with the intentions of selling your stuff, don't. You will be called out for it and ridiculed. We all know you're doing it. We have the rules in place for a reason. You want to sell something? Become an actual member of the community. Take time to makes posts that are constructive and useful. If you post in another members for sale thread: "is this still available?" and you have less than 25 posts? Your post will be deleted and marked as spam. If we delete more than 3 posts once and you do it again? You will be banned.

This is a tight knit community and we look out for each other. Our members have been burned in the past, and this is why we have these rules. You try to bend them, you will be penalized! Do not play ignorance and think it won't happen to you, because it will!

If you want to bypass this rule, you can support the community you're trying to make money off by becoming a Supporting Member for a minimum of 3 months. *hint. hover over the supporting member text for the link to subscribe!*

Pictures are worth more than words!
You want your product to sell? Post pictures with it! Quality is better than quantity. You think you can't post pictures because you only post from your smartphone? Think again! All smartphone platforms have some sort of image hosting app. I know for a fact that apple and android have photobucket apps. Guess what! Facebook is also a known photo hosting site! Upload your pictures there, then you can link them over to your for sale thread.

One For Sale Thread per user at a time
We ask that you keep any and all your items for sale in one thread. If you choose to disregard this, we will merge them together. Also, we can change the name of the thread to something more universal for your items. Once you've sold all your items, you can close that thread and start a new one for new items you may wish to sell. This helps keep the size of the forums down and the bandwidth at a minimum.

    Hotlinking your items is forbidden
You can't honestly be so lazy that all you do is hotlink your item to another forum/craigslist. It takes an extra 5 seconds to "edit" your thread on said other forum and copy the contents of that post into your thread on here. Most people don't want to have to click a second URL just so they can see your item that you're too lazy to post up yourself. If you do this, your thread will be locked.

    Mark items as sold!
We implemented an emoticon for this reason :sold: : sold : (minus the spaces). This will help ensure other users that the item has sold.

As Milo stated in the post above this:
These rules are subject to change at any time. Action taken against offenders will depend on the seriousness of the offense, could be anything upto and including a permanent loss of viewing and posting previliges and will be up to the sole discretion of the Administrators and Moderators.
