i searched but all i got was the jdm black chrome stuff or the wheel finishes... has anyone done this on a bugeye retrofit? i`m thining about getting this done but just wanted to see if anyone`s done it before and would like to give me some pointers. for reference... and this is my retrofitted lights that i wanna get black chrome finished

will it be durable against the heat of the lights i wonder... the last thing i want is a big goo of black chrome on the headlight lol
Yes...they will be fine. So, DIY or have someone like me do it or pay a shop to spray them out...those are your options.
man Jeff has got me going with the plasti-dip stuff now hahaha... kinda wanna go this route instead of the black chrome. what do you guys think? will the plasti-dip be heat durable?
Plasti-dip should be fine, plenty of GR guys and gals use it on their front grill and bumper garnishes. If you are going for black I would just go ahead and use matte black spray paint. I have had some difficulty with plasti-dip (getting the finish right, bubbles, etc.) and you won't have to worry about texture really under the lens. While you have the cover off, try and get them nice and polished up and put a few coats of clear coat spray paint on them. That should stop them from fogging up in the future. I find that good looking headlights can really make or break the look of a car and you might as well take care of it. I wish someone would just make replacement lenses for our cars. I bought some replacement ones for my old old car (VW Jetta) and it really cleaned up the front end. /enterwhoringpicture
I would not use plastidip inside the headlights. They put out a LOT of heat. The plastidip can put off a chemical when heated up (it is essentially rubber) and fog up the inside of the headlight.
I agreed, yes I'm ok-ish with the plastidip on my car. BUT I view it from a very temporary standpoint, and inside a headlight is far from that. Plus I would think a can of matte black paint would be pretty cheap, and will go on soooo much smoother.
you see how this one is more of a satin finish? it's matte but still has a shine to it... there is no way i can get that kind of a finish using a spray can so i`m wondering how i will be able to achieve this effect...
I honestly think if sunlight hit my headlights hard like that, they would look like that, and they're krylon specials. But to each there own. IF anything there are satin clear sprays that I'm pretty sure you can layer over. Or yes, find that paint code, and then find a sprayer.
