Hello guys im new to site but id like to get in depending on time I can get a good photographer for that date, he works for a friends club so he has some nice a$$ camaras oh and thats if I get my blue 02 back from the shop by then
so are we meeting before going into RoadAtlanta, or meeting someplace inside? anyone know how long of a drive from 85/285? made the drive a few times but never paid attention to how long it took.
Exit 129, then take a left (go west) and can't miss it 3-4 miles on the left. You can get there from exit 126 also. Exit 126 take a left and at dead end (hwy 53) go right and it's 1-2 miles on the right.
I am going to try my best. The GF has exams around that time but I really want to get the car in some nice pics since I added the gold rims and all on it.
So, just to make sure, Superdude is going to do the shoot for us, right? I just want to make sure that we have all bases covered before I tell my guy that we already have someone, so he can make other plans. Also, would it be beneficial to have multiple photographers at different places on the track to get some pictures from different angles? Let's hear some input.
yeah Randy (Superdude) has been gracious enough to take heed on this. but if other's show up with their equipment...then by all means. would be nice to have a collection of pics from mulitiple sources for more variety. inputs, suggestions, comments?
Email from my Father a little awhile ago that I thought ya'll would take interest in: Shane, Finally got through with the VP for Track Operations at Road Atlanta. Set it up with your friends for Monday, December 12 at 11:00am. We'll all met at the front entrance to Road Atlanta. Use the large parking lot directly in front of the Panoz School Building (right side, main entrance road). These guys should know what you mean, if not, they can drop me an email: lhayes@imsaracing.net. I will do one final check with Road Atlanta the week before to confirm that the track is still good for your group photo meet. BTW, no limit. (End of e-mail) As far as a caravan...that's up to ya'll. I'll be at Road ATL a little early to do some final planning before everyone shows up.
uhh...that's a negative ghostrider. as mentioned earlier...its a track day already so were going to have to play it ear by ear when we get there, to find a good spot for a pic.
oh crap...disregard the date on the e-mail. we discussed it and the 10th (Saturday) is still the date! sorry for the confusion.
sweet! thanks for setting this up, shane. what time are you getting up there. i can come early and hunt for the spot with you if you want.
some mo info for yo @$$ Email I got my my Father for everyone coming: "I spoke to Road Atlanta's Operations boss. Your photo shoot scheduled for Saturday, December 10 at 11:00 am is good. Let your friends know that we'll meet up in the parking lot directly in front of the Panoz Racing (it is to the right as you come into R/A's front gate. They will not miss it. You should be there early enough in your '05 STi so they can look for you. Remind them too that they cannot just proceed into the race track by themselves. I will escort you guys in after we sign a "waiver." We'll go in at 12:00 pm. Gives stragglers a chance to catch up with us before proceeding into the photo shoot area. I have predetermined the best photo area without us interfering with track events that day. I had to look for an area that has some race course view but also large enough to accommodate the 30 or cars you've told me planning on attending. I'll also figure out a way to get a tall ladder for your photographer. After the photo shoot, you guys can hang around and watch some track day racing. There is a decent Zaxby's that just opened about a couple of months ago just before you get back on I-85. Should be a good place for everyone to hang at and grab a late lunch. If you can, get a somewhat "firm" number of the cars coming." So let's all meet up at the location mentioned above in the e-mail. I'll be there a little earlier just to scope out the area, and to be waiting for the caravan to show up with my Father. After the shoot, we can watch some racing which is kinda cool. Out of curiosity...anyone signed up to run that day? Any questions, comments, concerns? Thanks. Shane
hell yeah! it's solidified . this is going to be so bad ass. thanks shane, you and your dad are awesome. let me know what time you are going up and i can meet you there early to check things out if you'd like. i'll be bringing a 35mm and my medium format. by all means, anyone who wants to bring there camera equipment, do so. the more the merrier. i'm still working on my boss to barrow our "super camera". it's a 22 megapixel medium format camera. we'll see.
holy crap...22 m/p camera? hell yeah...try and score that! dude...if you wanna caravan with everyone, its cool. however, i'll be there around 10ish if you wanna meet up early. your welcome guys. honestly my father is the one that made it happen. i just asked him if we could do it.lol ciao!
I know kids aren't allowed in the pit area for the track days, but I may have my kids with me. Will that be a problem come picture time?
lol, they'd actually like that at first I'm sure. After about 4 secs they'd be freaking out. Hopefully they won't be doing that Audi school. I want access to the infield to watch the trackday folks.
The 10th is right between my thanksgiving and christmas breaks. I'll be down next week so i'll hopefully run into some of ya'll then. I wouldn't mind a track day with subarus this summer. That i would drive back to atlanta for!
I got the Über camera, folks! But like i said before, all cameras are encouraged. This is going to be awesome. I'm gettin' all antsy...
hell yeah Randy...22 mega pixel camera here we come! thanks for hookin that up...should take some sweet ass pics.
I'll be running on the 10th at Rd ATL. Just ordered myself a new set of wheels and some toyo ra-1 too : - ) Gunna tear it up:rofl:
roger...got you down scott thanks. dayum...will we break the 50 count? i think so. man this is going to be sick!
Fifty?!? Are you serious? You folks are making this harder to stay away from.. This is making the days of hoping for 15 at D&B seem silly and almost a must attend.
