I use the WRX as my daily driver, and intend to make modifications for pragmatic reasons with few aesthetically chosen alterations. The few parts I ever buy usually come from the cheapest websites, but I'd rather deal with people and pay a bit more for higher quality service; I'm very open to suggestions on this front, and intend to start with the sponsors of WRXAtlanta. The only other local boards (that I'll admit, anyway) that I frequent are SORBA/IMBA and niche forums like MCarterBrown. And finally, yes, I do wave when I see other WRXs. The first day I commuted with my WRX I happened to stop behind a 2nd gen. WRX at the intersection of Marietta St and Northside Dr. I was enjoying comparing the features when I noticed the owner looking at me in his rear view mirror and waving at me. I waved back, and knew right then I had unwittingly joined a community of practical enthusiasts. This being day 6, I wound up leaving Best Buy behind a 3rd Gen STI and made and acknowledging wave which was promptly returned. I'm hoping to check out the modifications you guys have done at the next get together. I'll be the guy praying he doesn't make a fool of himself by stalling out or grinding reverse looking for 6th. Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 6_1 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/536.26 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/6.0 Mobile/10B143 Safari/8536.25) I stalled out while reversing at the last meet. We all have that moment. Haha
Welcome to the board! This board is one of the reasons I had bought my WRX so long ago. You'll make friends as long as you're not a grumpy old man like wgnpwnz.
congrats and welcome. there are a few decent guys in this community.... let me know when you find them
