It’s no secret that we at TopSpeed are huge fans of the DOM 1.5 and stock location setups on Subaru’s because, for the most part, they fit the customers goals and work great for the intended use. This thread is for a car that throws all of that out the window. This customer is a local and has gone through several different setups, including a DOM 1.5 that made great power… that wasn’t enough for this guy (in a good way ). He had goals of truly taking his car to the next level and wanted something he could have tons of fun with on the street and at an occasional drag racing event or dyno day. His goal: 500 awhp on pump and see what it makes on VP C85. After going through a few different turbo choices, we settled on the GTX3582R. Normally we would recommend against the GTX line of turbos for Subaru’s as they do spool slightly later but since this car was going to be tuned on C85 the spool times would be very close and the GTX would flow much more up top. This build was a ton of fun to complete and is even more of a blast to drive! I have no idea what numbers it would make. The mod list is way bigger then what's listed so my suspension is Def hooked up. What I need is some bigger wheels and a max performance summer tire. Not all season's.
man, that's a teaser you can't just leave us hanging on, can't wait to see that thread (if steve allows it) beast mode of a car, JKB, congrats. Do you launch from second?
At this time I'm concerned about launching it period. Not until I upgrade front and rear axles. I'm trying to be really nice to this car and make the motor last.
I doubt the axles will break. The only thing I broke at the track was the rear diff but my wagon was a lot heavier than your car.
Yep. I'm doing drive shaft shop level 5 in the front and rear. I'm loving their one piece aluminum drive shaft.
On that note I do have a blouch dom 1.5xtr with less thrn 10000 miles on it in perfect shape for sale for $1000
Ohh man that's tempting. I really should force myself to wait for a GTX3076 though instead of jumping up in stages.
I really think that this is the best turbo setup for street. On pump I made 408whp and if your running e85 much larger numbers. It'll save u money on all those other parts you'll need. It's still under warranty it's so new.
It was nice meeting you and everyone else there. I'll def come through more often. I had a blast and good food.
That's the idea!! Thanks Putting some new wheels on during next summer. Rigjt now I'm working on some upgraded axles and rear end. Everything white line makes for suspension is already on. Msi camber plates and kw variant 3's will be installed soon Just put new michelin pilot super sports on.
