It is January, which means it is time for the TopSpeed OneLap teaser thread to start This will be our 5th year consecutively going to OLOA here at TSM and we are just as excited as ever to be prepping a car to compete. We have since taken the overall championship spot 4 years in a row starting in 2010. Year number one we ran a Porsche 996 GT2 that was built and setup buy us in conjunction with professional driver Leh Keen. Then as some of you know the following three years we competed in two different GT-Rs. Each year we returned to defend our title and each year we were successful. Well this year we decided it was time to try something outside the box again kinda like we did the first year. We wanted to try our hand at a platform that is somewhat unknown to us when it comes to the road racing side of things that would be a fresh challenge. This new platform is going to present new bumps in the road and a carry a pretty steep learning curve, however I am very confident that my team is up for the task. I hope to be testing in the next 2 months in order to get this baby setup to defend the title for the 5th year in a row!! Lots of little details will follow. This should be a pretty awesome project when it is done. I will roll out more pictures over the coming weeks. Enjoy
Thanks I was about to ask as I need permanent flares not the old "Lucy" screw on. Looking great guys and I don't know how I missed that a week ago when I was up there.
Man this is gonna be awesome!!! I definitely wanna see the finish product with all the body work completed. Now is this car still going to be in the same group class as with the GT-Rs?? I wouldn't think so being a mid engine car but hey it never hurts to ask.
It probably is. The GTR is simply in the Big Bore class. They aim to win overall anyways so it really doesn't matter.
V10 6 Speed. The car is a lot of fun...but those pictures suck. There is something special about a 6 speed R8. Makes me wonder why anyone would ever buy a Lamborghini other than to be starred at.
spent almost the entire day up there waiting on mine, believe me when i say these guys are in it to win it this year. could cut the tension with a hair in there. folks is keyed up ready for action!
I did find this though. http://www.gtrlife.com/forums/topic...of-america-r8-build/page__st__20#entry1361553
i've seen & heard the "latest" having just come from up there. no one, will be disappointed. well, maybe the competition.
The car is built...and the team is assembled and ready... but I don't see them in the entrants list on the one lap site... http://onelapofamerica.com/currentEvent/EntrantsList.do?eventId=33
The guys are down at Roebling today for a test. Once I have some more media to give I'll drop it off here. This is what I've got at the moment:
I appreciate the lines and the work that Bryson (and crew?) put into the car...of course at the sacrifice of Jeff's car... :| But I most certainly don't equate it to needing to change my pants. physically or metaphorically.
Unfortunately, we are not doing a live feed this year but will have a dedicated page with all the Instagram feeds along with other updates.
Sucks that the differential busted under wheel hop and that TSM is out. I was looking forward to seeing if Catesby had a car worthy enough to compete with Leh .
