The RS project has been abandoned for now. I picked up a bugeye with a blown trans (go figure) for a great deal and am putting everything in that.

Big thanks goes out to Jack Pitt, Matt Ball and AllPro

Here it is when I bought it.

Here's the what I've done on the front so far.

6 speed and real end are in already, just have the driveshaft and brakes left to button up.

    Some light weight pieces installed

What made you switch to a bug eye over the RS?

I'm guessing ease of upgrading and not wanting to deal with the wiring hell.

This, and the bugeye was a running car, where the RS was a shell. Still needed a lot for it. Not sure if I'm completely abandoning it, but I need something that I can drive.

Couldn't you just take every last bit of dash, wiring, mechanical/etc out of the bugeye and swap it right into the RS?

That's whay Kyle did...as a result, he didn't have working power door locks, or windows...or sunroof.... you need to merge to get those things working.

If it's a purpose built race car, then it's different.

I could, its really just a matter of free time and proper equipment. My friend who is helping me with the bugeye is a mechanic with a lift and all the proper tools, so things are actually getting done.

Thanks, once its mechanically sound I may end up changing the color, but I still have some time to figure it out. I'm sure I'll be needed some more parts from you guys soon.

Not sure, I didn't see how it comes apart when I put it in. Found a rebuild kit, but it's also $1300. If I have to spend that I will just buy a Cusco tarmac.

Well, that didn't fix it. Something else is also broken. Trans is back out...

I should say top notch work from RalliSpec though, quick turn around and they cut me a pretty good deal.
