haha. thanks guys appreciate all of the support. I'll see where things are at. i think it really just boils down to getting the wheels to fit up front...

so trimming the fender liners, and i think i have to add some support to the front bumper to hold it out in the right position as i'm taking out the liners.

I think FTZ has an electric butter knife if you need to borrow that to cut the bumper

You should get these side skirts. EGR side skirts. They look visually appealing.... or the voltex side skirts

hmm thats seems like a bit too much for me. I think i am still wanting something to add onto the stock STI sideskirt. Sorta like how on Robb's GR he had a simple 'flat piece'.

Thats only why I considered the chargespeed but I don't know about that 'shark fin' shape right before the rear tires.
Overall, I want a piece that will be painted black, and not body color bc then I can retouch the paint on my own.

or you could just do away with the skirts altogether and fill the holes with LED lights that change and pulse with an awesome stereo install.

oddly enough he still has a few little issues to work out till perfection. I think that's why he's holding out on posting any. Overall it does look good despite not being complete... yet.

yeah, the car is mostly there. It's going back to Bryson next week for final fit and finish, and also after Toua got a look at it, removing much more metal from the fenders.

The actual reason for no pics, is I really haven't taken any, I have been busy with these two large projects and recently freeing myself of one client. Also, I'm now editing some product shots, and that takes priority.

I'll make a posting of my saturday afternoon at allpro with Patrick and Toua and the allpro team soonish.

What's the status of the car Jeff? Make sure Bryson takes care of those welds and holes he cut. Treat them so that they don't rust 5 years down down the road. I already started to see surface rust in the holes he drilled :(

I was supposed to take it back on monday, but had to fly out of town for a job. Got home last night, but I dont think I will get it back to them until monday. Yes, I have a list of fixes and I will definitely mention the rust that has started. Hopefully the fixes dont down the car for too much longer, I am still hoping to novice at least one autoX :p

It was a crazy week, and needed to get some peace of mind, so I finally cruised the subie up to North Georgia for a light drive since the paint is still soft and the roads are still pretty sandy up there. Took a quick snap shot while I was waiting to watch the sunset on hwy 348.

    Matte satin or gloss?

  22. rsutton1223

Matte. The flake makes it look semi glossy in pictures and the paint isn't fully matte yet. It has to sit in the sun for awhile. Same thing happened with mine. It is supposed to do that. It really is crazy to watch.

Yes what Robb said. The first week I had it I was parking it outside during the day and when I came home it literally was more matte. Its still doing it but not nearly as fast as that first week. Its definitely a weird concept for me.

Did you buy red overlays for the tail lights, or did another method

Bryson actually painted the lenses, I think it really goes well with the new color especially compared to the ricey 'altezza' style '06 tails.

well my scheduling finally lined up with Bryson's and the car went back to the shop this past tuesday for some touch up work.

I've been busy juggling a few projects and forgot about a folder of pics I took of the car a couple weeks ago, so I edited one out while taking a break from two video projects.

hehe, man that ones got a whole lotta stuff on it. I think I'll stick with my slightly 'toned down' scheme. Though I'll be rocking the same bottom line sideskirts and a lip.

Been a long while since I've posted anything. Mostly because the car has been in waiting for the final touches. So I can happily say my car went in for paint yesterday, and some last other things will be taken care of over the week, so things are getting really close for me to have it back in just under a year of changing.

    jeff,

did you install the Group n tranny mount or did it come with the car?

i get this weird clunking or whatever (i feel it where the pedals are) and was told it was either the tranny mount or pitch mount..so I wasn't sure if you had similar problems (I know mine is a WRX but since we are both hawkeyes lol)

Also why go with the Eibach swaybars? I 've been looking into Whiteline but there are just so many brands out there (cusco/perrin/etc)

    Hey Jason,

My car started basically stock drivetrain-wise, so yes I intalled the tranny mount myself, it definitely stiffened up the shifter feeling and got rid of the shifter movement under hard acceleration. As to the clunking, granted its been months since I drove the car, but I don't recall ever having a clunking sound or feel around the pedal area.

I have eibach sways because I got them for a great deal, free. They worked fine under my stock setup, really hope it holds up with the new setup.

I don't think you have to worry too much about brand of sway bar because at the end of the day, they are just bent pieces or tube/bar. What you need to consider is if its a solid bar (whiteline) vs hollow (my eibach, RCE, etc) As the diameter may be 24mm, on both style, but a hollow being hollow, can twist more than a solid or so I was told. So a hollow bar will be lighter, but less rigid for the same diameter as a solid.

No the wing had some paint issues so it needed to be re-done.

Yea a lot of projects have been finishing up at his shop. He was working on my front fenders again friday night and I think it might still go to paint today-ish.

This experience has solidified my opinion of this business moving forward should I need bodywork done.

It has also reminded me that paying first, means finishing last.

My experience at said shop was bad enough that I won't bring the car back for work that would/should be covered under warranty(paint flaking). I don't own an exotic and I don't make enough noise for my job to be a priority in any way shape or form and that was/is very clear. I see this as the skinny jeans of body shops. If you want a good job done timely look elsewhere.

And for the record I did not ask for any discounts or preferential treatment, I just wanted it done right.

Hope you have what you wanted soon Jeff.
