I purchased a 2002 track prepared bug-eye for my darling wife for her birthday. She loves it and can't wait to take it to the track. Here is a photo of it all decorated up!
Its got a bunch of stuff that makes it an all around better track car. It has a complete invidia exhaust including a catted down pipe, mishumoto radiator with silicone piping, eibach pro-kit lowering springs with camber bolts, Turbo XS blow-off valve, Cusco sways front and rear, Kartboy short shift kit, all new bushings through-out including Group 'N' motor mounts and transmission mounts. its been chipped and dyno tuned to 257 at the wheels. Its a really nice running car. It needs a few things. Its got trash pads on it that i'll replace with hawk pads, it also has some pretty ancient calipers so they will have to go to. I will also probably also replace both the front seats with some Corbeau Forza Sports and install at a harness bar so I can have harnesses in it. I am going to try and get the seats/harnesses in before the AMS Just Track It Track Day in July. That is when it will make the big debut on track. Subaru's are good cars for the track right out of the box. A few upgrades and they make real nice track cars. My wife likes hot rodding it around town, I think she'll have a lot of fun with it at the track. Stetson
Whoa Face...I know not to touch that comment...but I will say that she most certainly had her ways of earning the car, and we had a lot of fun her birthday weekend. Sparta - what kind of calipers are they? Are they used or did you buy them and just never install them?
those 4-pots will do well with good pads, fluid and rotors maybe even some rooducts for better brake cooling if hitting track days
used. I had them on my car for awhile and went on numerous mountain runs with 0 issues. I am only selling them because my friend made me a great deal on a full set of Brembo brakes. If they don't sell they are going on my wifes 2013 wrx
Make sure you let him know his wheels won't clear them without spacers before you push them on him and he making the FUUUUUUU face
Right now I still have the original wheels on the car. The previous owner plastic dipped them black...and I think they look pretty cool so they work for now. The car has a bunch of goodies and it and seems to be pretty well sorted so my original thought was to replace the calipers, slap some hawk pads on it and then take it and my wife to Talladega Gran Prix for the day and see how it holds up. If it runs pretty good, she is pretty happy with the way it handles and we don't get a lot of brake fade then she can hot rod it around at all the Just Track It track days and just have a good time with it. There is always Christmas for some new wheels...if she behaves. Stetson
She was pretty pumped. I ordered a rally graphics kit for it that hopefully will come before the weekend. It has the big swish with the stars and all the sponsors. She'll be driving it up at Atlanta Motorsports Park on 21st June with Just Track It. Y'All should come out and drive, there is a growing Subaru crowd at the track. A few BRZs, STIs and WRXs were at the last one. Stetson
http://justtrackit.net/upcoming-event-information/atlanta-motorsports-park/ is the link on the website, you can also hit us up at JustTrackItLLC@gmail.com. We will have three run groups based on skill level/experience. We have instructors for novices. All our instructors are certified either through BMWCCA, PCA or NASA. We do not charge anything extra for instruction so if you have never driven on a big track before, come on out and have a good time with us! AMP is a really exciting, technical track with a lot going on to keep you interested all day. Really fun course, I have driven 5 times and I still feel like I am learning a lot each time i drive there. You should get about 2.5 hours of actual track time for this event. It will be a lot of fun, hope to see a strong Subaru showing! Hope to see you trackside! Stetson
