Ok, at the last install day I had the pleasure of meeting some of you at getting into family. Albeit with a slightly alienated cousin (saabaru). But everyone was still awesome and it felt cool. I'm sorry to say though that my poor saabaru was lost 3 weeks ago Saturday. Those of you familiar with Atlanta know the 14 street and techwood intersection . Well I got tboned into a telephone pole. Thankfully my car did what it was designed to do. I'm perfectly allright but alas it didn't make it.

This brings me to last week.went up to subaru of gwinnett to see the new models and check out the place. Well a few hours later I find myself the proud new owner of an 06 wrx wagon. The guys up at SoG really took care of me and helped me get exactly what I wanted. Not to mention Scott, between the finance department and him I also seemed to have come into some new toys for my new toy.

So I'm proud to announce that with Scott's help I will soon have some numbers and graphs for the 06 for everyone.

As of right now the car is in the shop getting a helix (single cat) DP, exhaust, prodrive springs, sways. Ecutek will follow next Tuesday so I'll post results then. I have some prelim pictures that i'l post this tuesday. So stay tuned for updates cause this should be intersting.

Oh and a big thanks to Scott and the guys at SoG again. You guys rock. Anyone needing a new car or parts should definitely check them out. Just tell em Adam sent ya. :)

Sounds good. One quick question, do you still have the car or has insurance already taken it away? If you've got it, can I jack your roof rail deletes?

Great crew up there, I'm sure you'll be happy when you get it back, especially with the mods.

I got the Crystal metallic Grey. It is almost silverish in color. Unforuntely the salvage company already got a hold of the car. I'll see if i can find out where they took it on monday and let you know.

I went up and chilled with him during his purchase, great group of guys up there at SOG. That 2.5 should make some nice power. I am now drooling over the red 4-pot brakes too.

im pretty sure that the 04 and on WRX trannys are a little stronger than the 02-03's the 06 might be even better since they have changed the gears.

As promised, here are some pics of everything. Unfortunately there was a little delay with the delivery of the DP so we weren't able to get the car up on the Dyno yet. But i'm scheduled for next Tuesday so more then.

That sunroof is amazing, it is cleaner than the stock one on the saabaru. I'm about to get a 9 hour ride in the recently modded 06 down to FL too so it should be fun.

    Milo no worries,
Sol, Nice meeting you too and no that wasn't me i was sleeping in monday morning.

I think on the last run we were getting 240whp, 300hp@crank, 330lb's torque@ wheel, and 400lbs Torque @ crank. It's a little late and i might be slightly off on my numbers but i'll get the graphs from scott tomorrow and post them.

wow, now i am mega pissed at the sales rep who told me that it wasn't worth it to wait for an 06 because it would be more expensive. it's a torque beast!

  31. miloman

    miloman Retired Admin

for the mods, it seems to make similar HP to the ej20 but a ton more torque... im sure ur enjoying ur new found power

I think the whp is TOTALLY limited by the MAX airflow of that poor old TD04 turbo... That's why it makes almost identical whp to the ej20...

Dyno graph in a few minutes.

so u were making 265 lb-ft before tuning!!!! im assuming thats with up pipe and downpipe... very impressive

For those that haven't driven them back to back, it really is hard to make up the difference the extra displacement makes...

Milo's is the closest I've seen, but it still won't "hit" like a 2.5...

    SS

  39. miloman

    miloman Retired Admin

also im sure when ur out of boost, u r still running on 0.5 liter more displacement.... all this is making that 2.5 swap more and more tempting...

scott: do u know if they beefed up the tranny on the 06 wrx?

    So thread revival huh?.... :D

I just wanted to say congrats to shmali on the good job, although it's a little late.

Also wanted to add that Ecutek tuning has just improved by a lot so get a bigger IC and some more SS tuning and those crank numbers can turn into wheel numbers. :)

    The evidence: http://www.wrxatlanta.com/forums/showthread.php?t=9209&highlight=psi

Thanks, better late than never. So it's improved that much huh, maybe it is time to start looking at a few more upgrades. What do you think scott, Bigger IC make that much difference or should i go straight for the turbo as well :)
