it maybe, but everyone says it will be cheaper to just replace the short block. After factoring in the labor and machining cost.

Well if you have a core to give them, that'll usually save you some money.

Here is what it looks like on the motor. I am going to have to stick my head in there and see how easy or hard it would be to replace that bit.

Anyone looking to try one of these Friday night iTrack circuit cross things at Lanier speedway?

I was thinking about giving it a go.

Due to the weather they have moved the event to Saturday evening instead of Friday. I already have plans on Saturday so I wont be able to make it Saturday.

I am quite bummed, I was looking forward to it.

    That's gone fairly well then.

Its good that the SCCA event isn't for another couple of more weeks then.

We're out this event. Headed to the mountains to get our camping on for Laraine's birthday. Good luck with the motor Miles.

Tentatively in for AXA #3... Been fighting RockAuto with a shitty A-1 Cardone rebuilt Brembo (cliffs: don't buy them). Going back to the standard front calipers on my Z with HP+ and will rock that setup until it can't stand my driving!

Just keep an eye out for some on the local Z forums then buy a rebuild kit.

    :wiggle::coolugh:

    So, how bad was it...?

Yeah, but my problem is I don't want to pay $500+ for a beat-up set of front Brembos. The RockAuto ones I bought were $300 for the set. I'd have to be getting a killer deal to make me jump on them now!

It is a Z car, someone will wrap one around a tree or a pole fairly regularly...

It was the rod bearing 100%....I got to keep the short block, so I don't know which rod it was yet. I am looking forward to rebuilding the short block myself and having a spare or selling it. I am leaning towards keeping it, this way next time it will not be 8-9K, though that is with some upgrades.

duh...lol, oil pick up, AOS (that keeps the PCV), mounts (the tranny one add a ton of NHV), and crank pulley.

No dyno runs yet. I think all I need to do now is is get a header, up pipe, and mid pipe. Then I will be ready for the dyno.

I hate the "while you're in there" with internal motor work... Makes the wallet hurt! You don't want to see what I spent when I bought my 1.5 with the RR.5 block... -_-

I'm sure I'll come across some Brembos in my desired price range. Just not sure how long it'll take the find them!

Entries drastically or even exponentially increase till the closing time Saturday night.
Which is probably when I will be signing up, as I am not sure I will be done with upgrades in time:naughty:

    I am sure.

So... is this the whole coilover and wheel\tire setup? Alignment and all?

I am curious to see how much camber you chose to run in the front...

I am trying...it should all be at the house today:sx:

for AutoXing I am going have the camber on the front max'ed out (from most recs I have seen online), an ⅛ toed out in the front, zero toe for the rear, and enough camber in the rear to tuck the wheel/tire.

I am hoping I can lower the camber for street use. Which the steering rode is on the front of the upright, this would also decrease the toe in the front.

I agree with the 1\8" toe, next time I get my aligned i'll be requesting that.

The camber in the rear for tire tuck, the factory setting is -1.7-8 ish both of mine were -1.8 without touching anything. We just left it like that.

about -3-4 camber in the front? I haven't done research to know what the max is.

After looking at some of the pictures Jeffery has taken of my car I am think -2.5 to 3.0 would be the sweet spot which is about double of what I am running right now.

Not sure if everyone saw the email from Amy but everyone is now running in the morning. Not enough people to support doing the split days.

I, too made some progress... The Z has been sitting in the garage, front end in the air for a month or so. Removed the craptacular A-1 Cardone Brembos I'd bought, as they suck. Horribly. Or at least, one of them did. Now I'm back on the standard brakes with HP+ all around. Mounted up the front 18x10.5 RPF1s with my 265/35/18 RE71Rs, then realized that my floor jack is missing...

I'd been having an issue with my garage door not staying down. As in, I could randomly catch it raising back up 10-15 seconds after it closed. I'm glad they didn't get anything more valuable than my 8-year-old HF special!

I'll be picking up a new one tomorrow and bedding in the pads, then I'll be good to go!

I'd be installing one of those garage dead bolts on my door...

There is also a very loud solution... that comes in .12 gauge...
