picking up 32 mph in the back half.....that thing is strolling! Interested to see how it runs when you get it all ironed out.

Big update guys. Put together another block with a billet crank. Also installed much beefier rods and pistons. Trying a different camshaft as well. Sold the Super99 and I'm trying a different custom unit made by PTE. Different more compact cooling system as well. On to the numbers.

We broke in the motor and swapped to E85. It really didn't take much time for Taylor to tune the car. And we turned it up until it wouldn't make any more boost on the dyno.

This graph is from the last pull.
    47psi

Then we took it off the dyno and I immediately washed it. Swapped the 15s on. And loaded it in our shop trailer and headed to the WannaGoFast NC 1/2 Mile event. I wasn't sure if I wanted to run it at all. I was honestly just happy to have the option if I wanted to. My Dad and other family members including my wife and son and one of my best friends met us at the event, so I wanted to do something by the time Sunday afternoon rolled around. We were working on customer cars like crazy both day, but just after lunch on Sunday the boss told me to go shakedown the car if I wanted to. Taylor convinced me he had it setup really light and safe! So i jumped in! First run (literally first time driving and this setup and on 15s. She felt really good but as I passed the trap I only saw about 14X mph on the gauge cluster. So I cruised by the ticket stand and went back to the trailer and parked on the side. I was pretty disappointed. Then as I'm getting out someone runs up saying congrats. I was pretty confused and asked why? They said "I mean you went 177mph!" To my surprise I immediately got crazy excited. Turns out, my speedometer was way off with the hoosiers on! My dad went back down to the ticket stand to get my ticket!! Haha we decide to throw another what we thought was 7psi for the next run. Then the car went 182.77mph! New Subaru 1/2 mile world record!!! Then after reviewing the log, the car only hit +3.5psi!!!! I also won a trophy for fastest sponsor 4 door from the event! PS: I lost my back bumper at about 150mph LOL!

So fast forward 2 weekends! This past Friday the boss asked if I wanted to take my car with our shop car and head south to go test n tune at a local track called "silver dollar raceway". It's an extremely small 1/4 Mile track that doesn't host many large events per year. I immediately said yes and we headed down at about 3pm. I've never launched the car on the new setup, never driven on slicks or 15s other than the 2 half mile passes. The first launch bogged badly but went 10.2 @ 150! The mph had us pretty stunned based on the power level. The second launch bogged badly and then when it came back it spun crazy so I aborted the run. Third attempt I tried a different launch strategy and to my surprise, it got out pretty hard and I wasn't ready for it. I ended up short shifting 2nd and 3rd I guess getting the butterfly out. I hoped because it was a decent full pass that I finally got the 9.99 I've hoped for last year while battling a year long ignition issue. I get to the ticket stand and she hands me the slip.... 9.44 @ 154mph!!!!!!!! I completely lost my mind and so did the guys at the trailer!!!!! We couldn't believe it based on how far back it is on timing AND boost! I let it cool for a bit and helped with some shop car stuff. Then before we were leaving everyone told me to knock off 1 more pass before we loaded up. We decided to give it a little more in 3rd and 4th. I used the same launched strategy from an hour prior and it spun pretty good off the line. It touched the limiter in first which back it bog a bit on the shift. Then in 3rd and 4th it spun hard and was all over the place! I expected a 9.XX but didn't think it was better than the pass prior. I get to the ticket stand and..... 9.38 @ 155!!!!!! I was completely blown away! Headed home the happiest I've been ever with a personal car I've built AND driven myself! I can't wait until "street car takeover" in Charlotte on June 23rd! Hopefully I can add a little driver mod to the front half and go a little faster. Plus were so far back on boost and timing, I can't even begin to imagine where well get it dialed in after a few track days.
