    Hey everybody,
Sorry about not being able to make it out to the install fest this weekend but some family stuff came up. I have been doing plenty of research this past week and have started to seriously consider an Sti as my next car. I was wondering if someone in the Marietta/Atl area would be willing to give me a ride in their Sti and maybe even let me drive (if someone would be that awesome  ). Anything would be greatly appreciated, and it would be nice to talk to another enthusiast. Thanks again guys,
    Nick

Your wrong, trust me, Ive driven both.

The STI is a great car, especially in stock form, so is the evo for that matter.

If you are planning on getting rid of your BMW for the STI then you will be disappointed.

The great thing about the supra is that it drives like a lexus but its fast like a vette. It handles great and the only car you can purchase that will out brake it is a Porsche Carrera GT.

There are lots of options out there carefully consider exactly what you want.

    Hey Nick,

I am sure that there will be a few STi's at the Hooter's g2g on 2/19. See ya there...

umm, where on earth did you here this?

NicksM3: what type of STi are you looking to ride in? Or rather what are your plans for the car.

Mine has a full blown race suspension and a lowly 310 whp on the stock turbo.
dlowman's STi has a street suspension but makes close to 600whp on meth and pump gas.

There's a dyno day at TopSpeed on the 11th. You could probably get a couple rides in various STi and maybe a drive one if you bring us some women ;)

Well guys, what I'm looking for here is an Sti with bolt-ons, nothing crazy. I'm also looking at a custom supercharger set-up for a 1997 M3. In an Sti, I will be doing some minor suspension and engine bolt-ons. Any other ideas for the mid-20's price range?

Where on earth did I hear that. I heard it from Car and Driver, is that a reliable enough source for you.

70-0 The Supra was the Champ for 12 years and it only took a $500,000 dollar super car to take it down. How bad did it beat the supra it beat it by 2 feet.

LOL ( this lol added for sarcastic effect )

i dont get why you are downing the sti though? its a great car. Supras are good but discontinued and personally iw ould only purchase one in the TT form which is very rare. Plus you have no trunkspace or backseat.

my bad, I thought you were refering to the car's braking ability rather than a statistic of a stock car...

That stat's awesomeness is only exceeded by its uselessness.

    LOL (cause you're silly)

I was refering to the braking ability of the stock car. The only car that car and driver has ever tested that brakes faster from 70-0 is the Carrera GT.

I'm not downing the Sti. I love the Sti I drove a stock STI and a modded EVO at little Talladega and I would take the STI in a second. They are an absolute blast to drive and super fast around a track even in stock form. But you also have to look at where he is coming from. He has a E46 M3 thats a nice ride and I would take that anyday over an STI. But my priorites have changed lately.

I love my supra, Its sexy on the outside, classy on the inside, and its Fast and Quiet.
I couldnt ask for more. The wrx is fun. My 240 just got finished and I'm liking it so far. The mustang is a blast and I would take it on a road course over any of the above mentioned cars, but its got $20,000 in suspension parts on it.

People tend to get very defensive about cars they own. I realize that each car that I own has a use. Each one is very good at its given use.

For me the supra is a supercar for an affordable price.

I'll be up at Subaru of Gwinnette tomorrow at 9AM till prob 11 or 12 getting my coilovers balanced and the car aligned. If you'd like a ride, I'd be more than happy to oblige.

    Cheers,

    Mustang, LOL

Nope, I havent touched it since I started on the 240 I havent really touched any of the other cars. I'm trying to knock out one project at a time. I put the 240 on the dyno today at Batlground and started tuning, really just trying to work out some of the bugs so that Dan can tune it for me. I made a couple of baseline pulls it made 265hp at 7000rpms at 8lbs of boost. Ill be spinning it to 8000-8500 and running 30lbs so you can imagine that there are some more gains to be had.

If you can wait a week I can give you a ride in my STi. My mods are very minimal, perrin exhast, HP plus track pads, Stranos 32mm diameter front bar. It's step up as a SCCA A Stock autox car, so it's not the fastest one around. I work off of allgood road if you want to meet up during lunch or afterwork. Unfortunately I just got my gallbladder removed so I can't drive for the next five to six days. PM if you still want a ride.
