I filled up with gas on the way home also, and got some strange looks from other people filling up their gas at 1am in the morning. -- Brian
lol. You are brave driving those around, I dig them though. Makes me feel much better about runing different colors F/R
Brian/Mere, Are you powder coating these? I saw a powder coating system at Northern Tool the other dat and wondered how it worked....
No, I just bought 2 cans of "Berry Pink" (sold as cherry blossom red in japan) spray paint and some sandpaper, for a grand total of $7. I heard that powder coating can be bad for the wheels due to how it heats up the wheels. I don't expect the wheels to stay pretty looking with the brake dust and such, but it is easy enough to sand them again and quickly repaint. They are racing wheels, not bling daily driving wheels. The stock silver wheels work fine for daily driving for Mere. -- Brian
I thought we had discussed your painting method before. Thanks for the info! Edited!! Here is the link for the powder coating system I saw. It was actually at Harbor Freight. For $69, you might not be able to go wrong.... Powder Coating system
looks nice, but I am wondering how large of a piece you can do with it. I have just been flat blacking all my parts of my crx lately, but powder coating would be much nicer. -- Brian
This is the CRX that you bought for like $43.... and your going to spend $70 powder coating stuff on it???? IBspraypaintracersarefAstAr
I bought it for 1500: http://sccaforums.com/forums/thread/153688.aspx I am not going to buy a powder coating device, but it would be interesting to have for this and other projects. -- Brian
I think the system from harbor freight has to be baked after you spray it. I could be completely wrong though (and probably am). If not, I'm buying one.
