Not sure why i didn't mention it earlier but I lost my first love (automobile love at least) to an accident as well. I used to drive a 68 Mustang fastback...so sexy. A guy pulled out in front of me one day and the car's front end just got destroyed. I got totalled by insurance. With the money I put a hefty down payment on the wrx. Whiel it deifnitely sucked, ultimately it lead me to WRX Atlanta and the amazing community associated with it (warm squishy feeling). Everything is going to be fine.
hey milo, as bad as everything looks now just think in about a month you'll have your baby back, all fixed up and lookin mighty sweet with a new coat of paint. you know that we're all here for you bro. anything i can do just holla.
Milo, you know how much I love that car...I am really glad that you and Drew are OK. I was very sad to hear the news from Ill-WRX last night. I just got on the forums and man, it was a sad day in WRX history to hear this. I am very glad that you guys are still alive and kicking. Sorry again for the totalled car. Like Alex said earlier, it was just some mud that stopped you guys. I am just relieved that you both are OK. Mark
wow, sorry man. I bet Drew was thinking deja vu. Glad you guys are ok, I know the feeling in those tail spins. :wtc:
i'm glad I got a chance to ride in your car during an autocross last year, it was hella fun. this really sucks and it sucks that it had to happen to you. but helll theres always more cars to replace it, good luck with how everything turns out.
Wow, I'm glad that you guys were able to walk away from that wreck. I've had two simular wrecks where the weather was sunny but I hit water runoff from yardwork in the apex of a curve. The first time I was admittedly driving my car too fast on Cooper Lake Road, but not so the second time when I wrecked on East Piedmont. Loss of control is a very scary thing and I still have these incidents in the back of my mind when I go out driving on nice sunny days. -Jerald
scary thing is that the fact that i almost died has not shaken me up... most of all, i was worried about drew's health... after that i was just pissed off about the car... but this incident has not scared me away from the mountains or performance driving it is very possible that my suspension setup is what made the wreck as bad as it was... my suspension has minimum travel so off the road it is real bad... so when my rear end went off, it was game over instantly... the main reason i wanted to post these pics up was to let people know that no matter how well ur car is built or how much driving experience u have (not that i have a lot), shit can still happen... hope everyone is more aware of these situations and stays extra careful on the road... hope everyone learns from my experience
Hey Milo, sorry to hear about your recent wreck but glad to hear that you and drew are ok. The pictures actually look scary and I know how those roads up there are. On a side note, I used to ride my motorcycle up there on weekends and some locals don't like the idea of bikes and car clubs cruising "their" roads so they have been cases where the roads were tacked, sand, gravel and oil etc strategically placed. I don't go up there anymore at least not on the bike. In any case, I'm glad you and Drew are ok, you will be back on the road in no time!
Milo, I am glad everyone is OK. We can talk more tonight but slowwrx was spot on with his recommendations about dealing with the insurance. Marty at Gwin Collision is also a very good persoin to help you work/deal with teh insurance.
milo,, i am incredibly sorry for your loss but i am very happy that you and drew are alright. that's what we call a close call, try not to even worry about you transportation issues for now, what's most important is you are alive and you still have pat and charlie (your feet for non-country people) to carry you around and press your next cars acc.\brake. best of luck finding another car, and thank god your alive. p.s. you can be crash#3 now j/k
Isn't that near the same area where the movie "Deliverance" was filmed? Some up in them parts don't take kindly to city slickers. < Dueling Banjo's playing in the background. >
if it is totalled, would anyone here (hopefully not too far away) be willing to have my car towed to his/her house to help me strip it down? I could do it in my parking deck but it will be too dark and i don't have all the right tools.
Id offer up my basketball court, but we all know that would be a worse location. If you want, I am sure we could tow it to my Dad's garage again. That place seems to like having flatbedded Subarus dropped off there anyway
i've got tools that you can use and about 1/2 a garage (other 1/2 is full of crap) but we can still use it for light and stuff. if you need it, i can work something out w/ the miss. i'll help w/ anything that i can.
car is officially totalled... im gonna go through and find the list of stock parts i have... i'll post up if i need anything else
depends on how much money i get from insurance... btw, the car will be towed to my place tomorrow morning... will start taking it apart then
man i'm speechless milo. i haven't been on the boards in the past few days cause of work; however, i'm going to sound redundant by saying glad you and drew are okay. i sure loved ur car too! def a sad day in WRXatl history, however things will get better. good things happen to good ppl bro.
milo, hey dude, what the crap man, damn rocks. Drew is bad luck, cars dont stay on the road when hes in them. Hey on the other hand... its always good to start over. We can start over in november and we'll have a race and we can compete on haveing the loudest car again. IM NOT GOING TO LOOSE THIS TIME! i know it sounds absurd but believe me things happen for a reason so hopefully you can find the good in this. It sure is nice to see how many people care about you and that car. Lots of love man. Sarah passed the word all the way over to Iraq. I felt like a family member was killed. She was the Queen of the Black Knights a role model among cars, cartoon like in speed, evil in her apearance. A legend at the auto X track and was among the most spotted cars in Atlanta. Nevertheless the real genius resided behind the wheel and thank almighty God that another fine automobile will arise from the ashes like the Phoenix from the desert. Prose for ya my man... Prose. Keep your head up, Tom
Wow. I can't believe I missed this thread for almost a week. Glad to see that everyone is ok. The good news is that most off your parts will fit perfectly on a STi. I am sure the people at SOG would love to put you in a shiny new one.
Thanks for the kind words guys I am still waiting for insurance to make me an offer. Hopefully will end up with a ***
