A. Can't talk to anyone when you call, it's like they really don't want to talk to you about your problems. B. Service is the worst EVER. I remember when I first got the car and would take it there for oil change and it would take them all day to do it. Not to mention the shit I'm going through now with my car. C. Service guys are dicks and all they care about is there caddy's, cuz you know thats what they make there money off of is ripping people like my grandmother that drives a caddy all day long. They are just sleeze balls. Really. D. Service Manager(s), which are a husband and wife team, could careless about your car. If you have a problem, your just going to have to deal with it. Cuz you don't want to talk to them cuz they are no help. E. Dealerdship Owner, has no business ethics what so ever, nor is professtional in anyway, won't even return my phone calls nor my fathers phone calls. F. Techs or should I say a (tech) that works on your car. Is only ASI or something like that. Not even a master tech. I don't know about you but I think that I would want a master tech working on my car. I think most of you will agree on that with me. I just wanted to get that out for everyone. I wanted everyone to hear how crappy CLASSIC SUBARU really is. I just don't want any of the rest of the members to make the mistake of taking your car to Classic. I just really don't care for that place. I'm not saying this to be mean to any of you. I know maybe some of you bought your car from classic and have no problem with Classic. I just wanted everyone to know my story. Thanks Mike
Mike, Sorry to hear about your nightmare there... I bought my car from Classic and so far have only taken it there for oil changes(which to take all fricken day...). But hearing your story, and adding it to all the rest of the horror stories I've heard, I will be going to Trancalli for even oil from now on... Not to dig in your wound, but whats the story with your car? As far as I remember your tranny is dead right? Is the warrenty going to cover it? I'm really sorry to hear about your car, I know that even my hood damage is killing me, so I can't imagine what your going thru. I got your back with whatever you need man, Let me know...
I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Classic Cadillac and Subaru will destroy your car. My condolences once again, and best wishes on an expedient process.
I keep hearing things about Classic, glad I opted not to get my car there... (almost did!) Bought mine at Royal in Decatur... I really had the impression that they were somewhat shady, but I couldn't have asked for a better experience. They gave me a great price over the phone, didn't BS me about anything, didn't push extended warranties/window etching/blah blah.. and gave me an excellent deal on my trade. It literally took me less than an hour to buy my car. Since I do all my own maintenance, I can't comment on the service department, but the sales side I was very happy with.
Classic was so bad I bought my STi in New Hampshire.... I wont even go into how bad they tried to gouge me on it, then literally laughed at what I told them I could get one up north for. Said good luck and let basically leave. Later that day I get a call from the salesman stating that "I looked in the inventory of the dealer you are going to buy from, they have none in inventory looks like your deal is fake" Lo and behold I fly to NH and my fake car is there... Idiots..... Jason
I bought mine at Troncalli. It was pretty good experience. When I had a brake problem, after tech did test drive, they fixed it quickly (right front brake rotor was warped little). Oil change is done pretty quickly (almost less than half hour). I wanted to buy my wrx at SOG, but they were pretty ASS since i looked like a "college student". but guess what? i paid FULL cash when i bought mine. big mistake SOG. oh well... I use SOG whenever i buy parts since it's cheaper and closer to my work. ohyeah, back to the topic, I considered Classic when i was shopping. I'm glad that I didn't buy mine there. Royal Subaru is okay. They weren't eager to sell the car when i want to give them business.
Sorry to hear you have problems. I avoided Classic when I decided to get another Subaru because of my step-mom's experiece with a Caddy and mine with a Brat in years gone by. However it's not just a Classic problem. It's just the way dealerships are. It's the culture of the business. The customer isn't someone to take care of and build a relationship with. They are only someone that you remove dollars from their wallet and make fun of later. I use to hear how SoG talked about me after I walked out via a spy that use to work there. I still consider them my first choice but I also know what they think of me. You can take a good person and put them to work in any dealership and get the same experience. They slow down, they do shoddy work and just smile at you. Take that same person out for a beer and they are fine. Just don't trust 'em at work..
what people say behind my back, i dont know... but whenever i go to a performance shop / dealership and im ready to spend money, i expect to be treated with a little respect... maybe its superficial... i dont care... as long as my experience at the shop is smooth, im happy... here are some of the things i HATE : 1) stupid salesmen trying to sell me shit i don't want and dont need... if there's something cool that u really think i might benefit from, tell me about it but don't ask me to buy it 2) people trying to tell me what part is good/bad for my car or whats causing a certain noise without explaining their reasoning to me from an engineer's perspective... i hate the words 'trust me'... please dont insult my intelligence 3) people making a promise about parts getting to me on time and fail to keep that promise 4) people that dont open their shops on time and dont respect the fact that people have appointments the list goes on... during my one time experience with classic, i experienced (2) and it definitely pissed me off
BlueBox I agree with you; we are indeed arguing about the standard business practice of what some view as the sub par if not standard dealings of a typical company: Poor customer service, apathetic to your problems, etc. It is merely a science of business practice; the average company is not worth a cent. It is the few which take their time, and their extra pennies to build a devoted customer database loyal to the, who help spread their name by word of mouth. This is of course the most effective form of advertising. It is simple economics, but it will not stop me from ranting in the hopes of preventing yet another victim from falling to the apathy known as Classic Cadillac and Subaru. As some know, I have dealt with them on a handful occasions, the first and foremost being that they rebuilt my car. At the time I was quite satisfied, despite my feelings towards their customer rep. and sale's dept, with their service dept. Well, by service dept I do not mean the one who literally through my headlight replacement into my front end, scratching up the entire socket, I mean the one which did (at the time) a most impressive job repairing my car. As I just mentioned, at the time, I was quite pleased with their work. This was around 9200 miles; now, with 16k under the car, I am starting to notice some issues with their repairs -- fortunately, their work is all warranted, but that does not necessarily give me joy in the knowledge I may have to return there. This, of course, is amongst many reasons why one of my first goals of this website was to create a database of dealerships which informed potential owners where and where not to go. It is very easy to take one bad dealership experience, and immediately think "Wow, I just....Subaru's must stink" and go buy something else which you may or may not be as equally pleased with. The moral of the story is simple, I beg of you all, those here now, and those in the future, please avoid a nightmare--DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO THIS DEALERSHIP. They will, through their lethargy, mishandle your automobile. I will not lie, one of my fondest memories of that place is watching one of their Tech's back a Cadillac into a Subaru owner's parked WRX sitting in the maintenance garage. Did he stop? Of course not! The owner came out and asked me, naturally I said yes, and just said simply "Welcome to Classic." I have many more stories, but I hesitate to take up any more of your time.
No worries mate, you have not done anything wrong -- I'm just trying to prevent anything coming up again.
Damn, I never heard that part of the story. Lots of worthless dealers try to play those games. It gets really old. I got the same crap from a Mitsu dealer when I bought my Galant. The sales manager actually called me an idiot for trying to get a demo car for a few hundred over invoice.
Well, that's exactly why I left. Is it a touchy subject? I must have missed something. Basically, I couldn't stand for customers to come in and get treated like crap. I wouldn't get my own car worked on there, why would I recommend that others come there? So I left. When I came on board there, the owner and upper management gave me a bunch of lip service about raising their quality of service and supporting the Subaru ownership community... I knew it was going to be an uphill battle, but I had no idea how uphill. It was simply a lose-lose proposition from the beginning. That place really needs to have everyone in the building stuck out on the curb, and a whole new crew come in. You wouldn't believe the stories I could tell you about the shady shit that goes on in the accounting department there... Let's just say selling cars to dead people is just the tip of the iceberg. Oh, and by the way, their "master tech" Tom is a total shithead who couldn't tech his way out of a paper bag. In fact I don't even think he really has his Subaru certification. He has the worst attitude towards customers I've ever seen in my whole life and likes to rant in his service bay to anyone who will listen about "these f'ing punk kids with these WRXs".. etc... Don't get me started on David, the "accessories manager".... that little crook doesn't have an honest bone in his body. He sells $30 stick-on vinyl "wood" dash kits to Cadillac customers for $600, and does it with a straight face, lying to them up and down about quality and this and that... it made me sick. OK, I'm done. P.S. If I needed warranty work done in Atlanta, I would go to either Subaru of Gwinnett or Troncalli. You *may* also have a decent experience at Royal, they've raised their quality of service from what I understand, but SoG and Troncalli are both usually safe bets.
I spoke to the accessories manager when you weren't there one day Jason, I think you were at the Challenge. Seemed real shady, I just didn't get a good vibe from him. Then he was telling me the subaru underspoiler for the front only was gonna cost me a whole lot, and was then like, not that you would have to worry, seeing as your parents bought the car for you anyways. That's when I left (finally me free oil changes are up so I never have to go back). Craig
My friend Joel was ranting to me the other day about how Classic treated him a couple weeks ago. He did like that they gave him a superpimp Caddy rental car but that was the only positive thing he could say. Needless to say he's bringing his car up to SOG next week.
Porter, the only reason I said such was because I wasnt sure if you wanted something of that nature brought back up. I was just trying to look out and or prevent anything unecessary... Also, time willing, I'll give you a call next week about finally picking up my stuff.
At least I don't feel so alone.... Conley Subaru (now Royal) destroyed my car. My 02 WRX was in an accident, tweaked the frame. Conley set their greasemonkeys loose upon my car, and it took them over 3 months to fix. About halfway through this time period, I went to check on my car, and it wasn't there. After much chest beating and poo flinging, the service manager finally told me that there had been a mistake, additional damage had been done to my car, and it was at body shop across town being repaired. His little minions had put my car on the frame rack, and stretched the frame the wrong way.... a lot the wrong way.... like $4000+ the wrong way. Then they wanted to charge me for that. That was a mess. That said, Troncolli was way too shady for me. Classic was ok, but I just bought the car and didn't go back. I've had good luck with SoG so far, pretty good peoples as far as car salesmen go.
No real update: They put it all back to together and they said 3rd gear potted out or something of that sort. I have no Idea when I will get my car back now.
Have you called Subaru of America? If you're getting poor service, it might help to light a fire under them.... at least that's my experience from owning Fords: if you called the consumer complaint line things got worked on real quick like.
moose: Oh yeah I have called Subaru of America 3 times and filed complants against this dealership. Correction: The service guy just called and said my car was finished. I will be picking it up tomorrow at 9 am. I can't wait to get back in her.
That's great that you are getting it back tomorrow, I hope all is well. Now all we need is for Bobby to get his car back and everyone should be up and running again. Except for Javid.
haha I dont think I'm ever gonna get it back. I guess it'll be like NASIOC where none of the moderators even own subarus anymore.
Awww it's better than sex (almost). Pick my car up today around 9:45am. Thank god I finally have her back. It feels so good.
Congrats Hey man I'm sure you're glad to get your wheels back. What was the final damage , bill , etc?
Bobby, Your bolts came in today. Bob will be spending 8+ hours on it tomorrow. There is always the chance that it will be driveable by the weekend. (CHANCE, maybe small... but a chance) SS
That's awesome that Mike got his car back, and that hopefully by mid next week Bobby will have his back.
