Looks like this is a new forum area, so I'll go ahead and help fill it up. It will at least get the "you have not posted in several weeks, why not?" message to go away LOL Some of you may have seen my journal on IWSTi, sorry if it's old news to you I have a 2004 Platinum Silver Metallic STi This is one of the first pictures I took of the car once I got it home and even washed it on a rainy day LOL It stayed stock for about a month, then I ordered Forced Performance Red Turbo Deatschwerks 860cc Injectors Perrin Big MAF Intake 3" Inlet Hose TurboXS FMIC Downpipe TurboXS Utec Vibrant Exhaust Fuel Pump Omori Boost Gauge Gauge Pod Manual Boost Controller Hoses...Lines...Gaskets...Blah Blah Here are some pictures throughout the install.....Yes, I did it in my driveway at college LOL Omori Boost Gauge, changes colors, I keep it pink to match the STi on the gauges and plus I'm a girl so I like pink of course Fitting the intercooler
I went to get it tuned at TopSpeed but the stock clutch wasn't holding. It got to 450 whp and we had to stop because it was slipping on the dyno. I finished installing an RPS 6-puck Max this weekend and will be taking it back to TopSpeed to finish up the tune within the next week or so...need to make an appointment still. But while it was still on the stock clutch, the STi was let loose on Hutchinson Island...Here is a video: http://www.bigboosting.com/hosted/sav/hutchsti.wmv It's nothing special, just some donuts. Didn't stay too long because we didn't want to get in trouble (even though the track is abandoned). Also here's a random picture I took while on Hutchinson, kinda like it. Sooooo I guess I'll post again once I go back up to TopSpeed and get my final numbers. I'm debating on going External Wastegate, but haven't found one for a decent price yet. Hope you enjoyed, Erica Two more pics. Trying to be a fancy photog but I suck at it
very nice car! hope to meet you at a meet sometime btw after watching that video all ican say is UHMAZING
nice ca man, i like the setup that vid is so nice too, i bet the clutch was screaming after that abuse.
You are my new hero. Lol  Seriously though, good job with the car. Was that you doing the mad dorifto?
Thanks for the nice words all Yep, it went from bone stock to beast...it was quite a change. I broke a rear cv axle last weekend at the track, so it currently won't move. Trying to find a stock replacement that's not $479 from Subaru, but no luck. Any suggestions?
Genya broke the driver's side rear axle at silver dollar earlier this month... might wanna PM him about where he got a replacement
miloman = awesome Think I have the axle situation worked out now. YAY It sucks because I think my car has had more downtime than uptime lol Some more videos..... These are from the track. IDK why I went, the car has at least one bad coil pack so you can hear in the video it break up every gear, totally killed my ET and trap. Then it wouldn't boost past 24 psi. And plus it still wasn't tuned. This one was the best run of the night...12.1 @ 112 with a 1.66 60'. Absolutely horrible. This was due to the bad coil pack and a hose popped off on the way down the track http://www.bigboosting.com/hosted/jackson/BBvsMoostang.wmv Another run killing an S2000...again, sucky because of the misfiring up top. 12.3 at 112 with a 1.8 60' http://www.bigboosting.com/hosted/jackson/BBvsS2000.wmv Then the rear cv axle snapped So I guess I didn't expect much going up there...but once I get the new axle I'll head back up to TopSpeed to finish the tune. I'll probably be ordering an external wastegate so it will boost more and coil packs next pay day, so hopefully my next trip down the track will produce better results.
Why are STi's always breaking axles? Never hear much about WRX doing that....just WRX break trannies....lol Bigger HP?
stock beam? Nice looking car, looks very clean. For the Perrin Big MAF Intake, do u have to replace the stock bumper beam or can u keep it on?
Kept it on.. And just for an update, got an external wastegate on. Planning on going back to TopSpeed on the 29th
I'm confused. Why would you even think that would have to be done? The intake goes nowhere near the bumper beam.
I knew I had heard people say you have to do that. Sucks I guess just cause it takes a little longer.
I don't mind the length of time per se, I might mind if I have a frontal crash with something lol More pictures Wastegate as requested And my rockin' pink STi shirt I made that I have to show off R0X0RZZZZZZZZZZ
I don't think it offers much in the way of safety Only so the bumper mounts right and the intercooler core too
So it had an integrated wastegate? I'm not so sure I'd really want one but the price doesn't seem too bad for a turbo of that size.
Right it had internal, I just got the external wastegate The turbo isn't what's bad. It's the intercooler ($500+ used), Utec ($500 used), Injectors ($300 modified), Inlet ($100), Exhaust and Downpipe ($600), MAF ($100), Spark Plugs ($40), Tuning ($300) Adds up quick
