Try 11.78 now! Bwahhhhahahahahaha! 1/4 time.....11.785 1/4 mph......122.64 1/8 time......7.723 1/8 mph......97.30 60 ft..........1.652 This car just keeps on amazing me. Do NOT diss the 2.0L EJ205! Stock block and stock transmission and it's holding fine. Shifted beautifully all night. I put the whupping on a Meth inj. Evo tonight! I slacked the tire pressure a little to induce better grip and it liked it. I am just waiting for that transmission to give but it still holds....Thanks Subaru for the wider gears! Still want to do the RA gearset though but I'll take my time with it. I called SS and I believe I shocked him...:keke: All I can say is I love my car :ddirty: :ddirty: :fawk: :wiggle:
Thanks man. I was so estatic and acting like a little kid. I got kicked off the track and they told me I can't run again until I get a rollcage.....lol Everyone was asking if I was pissed and I was like ??????? NO I AM GLAD! Oh guys this was at Darlington Dragway too.
thats awesome man, congratulations, its funny how there are sti owners with fp greens etc on nasioc asking if they can squeeze into the 11's and you have done it on an 18g 2.0 ahahahaha that is awesome :bigthumb:
congrats on the great times. i do want to point out that the track your racing on is almost 1000' lower in altitude than commerce and a little more than 300' lower than silverdollar. that acounts for alot. im not busting your balls just pointing out that a wrx with your hp would never do that in ga. info source http://www.schnitzracing.com/Tracks/tracks.htm
stop pissing on his parade jt..ha joking! congrats on the 11.78 run! your car sounds like a beast now!!!
It wouldn't matter if he was running at the Dead Sea, 11.79 at 122 is freaking NUTS. I never would have believed a stock block, stock tranny USDM WRX would do that. I thought the 11.99 was a fluke, maybe a magic pass, but to back it up with THIS. C'mon guys that's pretty nuts. SS
That is awesome!!! I am definatly getting an 18g now. Someone buy me datsun so I have some freakin cash. Great driving dude.
Everyone is just jealous Scott...lol Everyone keeps asking how I get such great 60' times. The secret is an old DSM trick that I used to do. With the 18g being as big as it is it is hard to spool that thing off the line especially with the lightweight flywheel. Therefore I brake boost it at the line. Ease off the clutch when you are staging apply brakes and mash the gas according while staying stopped. Yes it's hell on your brakes but I came off the line last night at 19 psi resulting in 'instant' launching and lighting the tires up! Everyone in the stands said when they heard that they all stood up and watched. From what my sponsor said my car "Squatted, kicked the rear out, and took off like a rocket and git'er done!" :ddirty:
Ya know someone HAS to have one. I'll check with all the guys that hang out at the shop if they did happen to get it on video. Speaking of which..... http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=994154 :keke: :keke: Man I love ^^^ that smiley.
Does it matter how much power? The times speak for themselves. I would guesimate at around 350-360ish.
Sorry, no it doesn't really matter. Just curious what kind of whp numbers could result in a nice time like that.
im not saying it isnt nuts. those are awesome times. but yes it matters very much what the altitude is. in florida at orlando speed world (66') i pulled a 13.76 in a stock wrx with a mbc thats it. you think anyone has done that here on a stock wrx with mbc? hell no they're in the mid to high 14s.
Congrats man thats awesome. Those are sick trap speeds, I think thats faster than I trapped on my 18g, I only drove it a few times at the track. Its such a great turbo. Congrats to Scott to for what is obviously an awesome tune. Now.... ............ .................. ....................... Get ready to break stuff, its coming, Tranny first then a ringland, then maybe a rod. Youre pain has just begun. Matt
I honestly would have to beg to differ and I think Scott and the others that know me will agree. Wanna bet on that? I take care of the car and it rides just fine. I don't half ass drive it and I don't drive like an idiot. Yes I push it hard on the track but there is a difference in that and flat out dogging the daylights out of it. All the other stories you hear out there usually have more to them than is being told. Scott tuned this car VERY conservatively....hell my AFR stay between 10.2-10.4. Maybe Scott can post up the Delta Dash info from that last pull we did.....soooooooo smoooth and sooooo like it should be. The car honestly doesn't feel like a 11 sec car cause it is so smooth.
That sounds just like when I would launch my car with the old auto and 4100rev torque converter. Great times, will the better gearing with the RA tranny affect your 1/4 miles times much?
iT'LL probably make it worst but on the street it'll be a blast! I keep saying it but I think I need to quit dragging the car and just let it be the street beast it is and let everything last me.
Yes I do want to bet on that. If you keep going to the track you can kiss that tranny good bye. As far as the tune goes you are entering the danger zone horsepower wise. It doesnt really have as much to do with the tune as it does with the strength of the componets. Best of luck Matt P.S. the post wasnt intended as a slam in anyway. Those are awesome times but you are going to break stuff.
Gotcha. However I think that the advertised danger zone power wise is a little higher for meth inj. cars. You see I personally believe that it isn't the integrity or strength that is breaking on the ring lands and all but more all the heat that is generated. Of course that is my opinion. That has nothing to do with the tranny I know but as it is I am officially DONE with the drag strip as I refuse to get a rollcage in my car. They will remember me as everyone there personally knows me. So now it's lay back and be a happy little camper and enjoy what ya got. Thanks for the concern though!
i'm not sure what kinda track you go to but NHRA rule book for 2006 changed the rule to 11.49 needs a cage in a full bodied car and 13.49 for convertibles this is down from the previous 11.99 and 13.99, i would get a rule book and go talk to the track.
Darlington used to go by NHRA rules but under the new ownership they changed it. Mostly due to the idiots that act stupid and crash. I think there were like 4 wrecks last year so they revised it for themselves. I didn't know about it until after I ran? Maybe they just didn't want me out there obliterating all the rednecks...lol Man I seriously HATE Nasioc. http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?p=13676486#post13676486
Awesome times man, scan your timeslip to shut everyone up, and hope you can find the Video, that will really put the Nail in the Coffin for the Nasioc Haters. They are all jealous. That is why the only place I go in Nasioc is OT. Flaming and haters are to be expected and that is the whole point to that section. I am gonna have to go to the dragstrip and try the Boost Brake Launch, maybe I can finally get into the 13's and be required to wear a helmet.
Is a cage really that much to ask for now that you are at that level? Nothing wrong with balancing the car out safely. Second, you should enjoy the fact that they're rippin into you on NASIOC, jealousy sure is a bitch
You may not need a cage. I believe at 11.49 you need a roll bar not a full cage. You may be able to get away with a bar at Darlington. I also read on NASIOC that you said you didn't have a helmet. You sure you didn't get kicked off for that? There are a lot of people with higher hp cars that can't touch those times and it hurts the ego. (I know. I am one of them). I must admit I doubted it when you ran the 11.9x but I like probably others on this board have the decency to refrain from starting a flame war. Not so on NASIOC. Now that you have backed it up on a different track I am no longer a skeptic. I am happy to see the stock tranny get into the 11's as well. I was hoping to get there with mine but I went ahead and put in the 6 spd before I broke the 5 spd. I figured I was living on borrowed time. Congrats again
haha that Nasioc thread is more the reason why I dont ever get on that site anymore. It just seems to be a couple asshats talking shit while everybody else believes you. I need to get a ride whenever you get back down towards this area.
I will be when I get back home. I will be away most the weekend so look for the scan come Monday morning. They told me I needed a helmet and a roll cage. I have a helmet and will take it next time but I still have to have the roll cage. I bet if I put in a harness bar they will let it fly as they don't inspect the car just look in through the windows. Also Liquid that was smart of you to go ahead in use that tranny. I have been talking with a good buddy of mine who understand a lot of what goes on in the engine. Essentially brake boosting was doing several things. One it was taking a lot of slack out of the drivetrain and getting rid of a lot of the shock factor. Second the engine was loaded up and ready to rip instead of the potential of bogging off the line. Third the constant load on the engine resulted in the turbo starting to spool which in turn resulted my FMIC being preloaded and full of air which in turn made the boost 'FLY' after the launch. When I stated I had 19psi of boost off the line I meant at the moment after releasing the clutch and looking at the boost gauge. I normally hover at 10 psi for a second and gradually build up whereas this time I pinged 19psi quick.
This just makes me not want to post on Nasioc even more, which I didn't think was possible... oh well, the thread is going well at the moment SS
Drag strip... The final frontier... These are the voyages of CoolRex's WRX. Its continuing mission: To explore absurd new et's... To seek out new traction; new 60 ft's... To boldly go where no one has gone before! << cue music>>

I think it is congrats, to get on the list though, God, jesus, 2 wisemen, and the pope must all have seen you run on a sunday, or it doesnt count. Why do think my name isnt right under Clarks. Matt Just for the record I think its possible to go 11.5s but you have to be willing to break the car. Matt
