hey guys, i'm new to the forum and kinda new to wrx's. i was referred by some guy that lives down the street from me off LaFrance st.

anyway, recently my clutch started slipping. i dont have the patience or even a driveway to do the work. so do any of you guys know someone with experience that wants to either help swap a clutch...or just do it straight up? i have a couple of jacks,jackstands,tools....and cash!

the clutch swap is a lot of work... there are some people on the boards who have done it themselves but i would take mine to the dealership

I agree, Clutch swap is very difficult and not the kind of thing you want to take a chance on messing up. I would take my car to a dealership.

    hi corey, welcome!

i did the clutch swap on my 02 wagon. the main reason i did it myself was i didn't have the extra cash to get it done at a dealership & i wanted to learn as much about my car as i can. if you have the money take it to a dealership. it's a big job and i couldn't have done it without the help of some very good friends. plus, a big plus, i had a garage and a beater car that i could drive while getting it done.

but then agian i had many people telling me to take it to a dealership as well. if you decide to do it yourself, i'll lend a hand if i'm not busy.

yeah...i'd rather have someone do it, but damn i'm not so sure about the dealership, arent they pretty expensive? how much does the dealer cost for something like that? i'd rather just pay someone on the forum that may need some extra cash.

Yeah go to do it at the dealer if you want it done correctly.

500ish is for labor only, the rest depend on what type of clutch you plan on getting

I'm fully capable with these cars and I'm taking it to a professional :D (might I suggest you consider the same).

The downtowm simply isnt worth it to me. If I had a week or what have you of just straight time to work on the car, then maybe...
