    I agree....

Suspension first (sway bars, brake lines/pads)
then power. THat's just my opinion though.

What are you looking for out of it??

Yeah. Suspension is a great place to start while the motors getting broken in.

If you wanna do power mods this is a great time to save up and decide on which ECU mod or turbo system upgrades to go with.

    Thanks guys.

Just looking for all around fun. I used to do some SoloI and soloII racing back home in NH. It has been a long time though.

OK, so I will look into the sways. Any particular brands/size that are ideal. of course The very first thing will be intake. Any particular intake you guys are partial to?

    How does this look
    1) Intake
    2) sways
    3) exhaust

Intake is not really necessary. The stock intake is quite effective, and is all that you really need until you get up into higher power levels.
    I would go with:
    1) Sways
    2) Exhaust (full turboback)
    3) Engine Management with a good tune

That looks good. I'm sure a lot of folks will suggest Whiteline sways, Injen CAI and..... well. I say the Prodrive exhaust is pretty nice, but you'll probably get all kinds of suggestions in that department.

hey i say the APEXi N1 exhaust i just put on the cat back and it is awesome, sounds great, but I agree with wrx8or, CAi is not really necessary yet for an STI until you really upgrade the turbo and MAF, It sounds cool though! :p

Sways are a great idea. I would also suggest some adjustable struts. It will help your body roll into turns as will the sways. Most of the exhaust stuff doesn't have much effect with out proper tuning. If you can't buy it all at once, then you can build up those parts over time. Springs are also a nice addition, as they will give your car a much better look, but alone aren't the best mod.

to answer your question, whiteline makes great handling stuff for suby, perrin bars are good too. SoG just go an entire palette of whitelines in last week or so. many say just the front bar if you can only get one, but if you can swing the cost i would get both fr and bk.

    1) Accessport
    2) As many exhaust pieces as you can afford. At least you lucky STi owners don't need to by an uppipe!

http://www.fastwrx.com/perguid.html. I have used that site when I was first starting out. It gives you a good reference guide. Then you can go and check out what they have. There are some good places to shop in Atlanta also.

I'd go with an AccessPort, then downpipe. Won't cost a fortune and it'll make the engine run like it ought to from the factory. :)

yep I agree with moose! accessport then down pipe, you can always re flash to stage two after down pipe is in. just use stage one real time map! until then to save one of the flashes on your ECU. ECU can handle about 100 reflashes.

Pretty sure the AP bypasses the whole reflashing limit on the ECU...

Sort of.. I think the flashing a base map counts as a reflash, but real time maps don't affect it. Either way, the 100 flash limit seems pretty arbitrary and I've never heard of anybody actually 'wearing out' an ECU so I'd take it with a grain of salt. :)

One thing to keep in mind with AP maps... if you disconnect the battery you lose your real time map, but keep your base map. So make sure that you don't do something like flash stage 2.5 realtime over stage 2 base, because if the ECU is reset you end up with a map for different turbo/injectors/etc.

Only when you use the real time maps. But if you use base maps it counts as a reflash. :)

Just remember if you decide to later go and autox seriously, you will be upset about what class you get thrown in because of the ECU. Don't get ahead of yourself. Learn how to be fast in your car now, that way you will be compeletly ready for mods later on. This just doesn't apply to competetitive motorsports, but daily driving as well. A lot of suspension mods are just as good as power inhancing mods because they help you to transfer the power more effeciently to the ground and you won't get screwed if you try and do some solo later.

    Really good advice, Thanks!!

Yeah I am not looking for a full on race car or to plunk down a ton of money and do a bunch of mods at one time. I just cant keep it stock. I want to do it slow and feel every change I make. I have NEVER kept a vehicle bone stock. If I wanted my car to be like everyone else I would buy a Camry. :)

I cant wait to meet this "Scott Siegel" I have heard so many good things about him. Even the guy over at troncalli in Cumming was on his nuts and was like "Take your STI to him and no one else" LOL.

When I pick up my car this week. I want to take it up to SOG and have someone show me this thing and go through the car with me. I feel like I am a little kid getting the Pimpest bycycle but I need someone to show me how to ride it. LOL

I am not completely green. I used to do SCCA SOLO I and SOLO II racing back home in NH several years ago. Granted all I had was a suped up Dodge NEON I sure as heck thought I was "billy bad ass" and "Johnny road racer" all in one. Most the kids my age didnt even know what a double apex or threshold braking was.
