Ok, here's the deal. I just bought a used Injen CAI from a member on this forum. I followed all of the directions and installed it correctly, from what I can understand. This didn't take me very long. It looks great.

However, I'm having a really serious issue as a result of installing this item! For some reason my overall MPG has drastically decreased! :grr: WTF! It's like my car is an SUV now with how quickly my gas is running out.

Oh, wait... I'm flooring the pedal a lot more now... Dhur. :naughty:

Thanks, ZenMonk, I appreciate the great Injen CAI. It's a sexy black-coated CAI and it looks great in the engine bay. Installation was easy - I did need the WD40 as you mentioned.

Overall, the SOTP feels awesome! I can feel a greater pull from acceleration now, shifts feel crisper and have less bogging. I definately recommend this mod. :sx:

    Respectfully,
    Jesse

i think the biggest change i noticed with the intake was the sound... i doubt it does anything for shifting but a nice sound does make the entire car feel 'nicer' :)

glad ur happy with the mod :bigthumb:

Well, I don't mean the shifting as far as the transmission/shifter is concerned. I mean in regards to the acceleration of the car while shifting. Before I had the CAI it seemed the car was starving for air and would bog-down slightly. You could feel it after entering the next gear, just before the turbo kicked in, etc.

Now, I don't notice the vehicle bog down anymore after shifting. I shift and it goes. :) It's not a horrible bog, just a slight one. Annoying, never-the-less.

Bwahahaha, yeah, I was walkin' to my car and just stopped. I just sat there as you drove in the Shell; almost like I was waitin' for ya to pull in. Mad Subie love. ;) How was it at Drift Atlanta?

Good deal mang. Glad you got the hook up.

I was SO glad I went to Drift Atlanta. Anyone who says it's not a true motorsport must not have ever been to one because not only was the drifting cool to watch, but so were the Panoz and Formula Ford events. (The F F's are even faster than I thought they would be) The car show was all right and booth babes were definitely a nice touch. All in all it was great. :D
