Well, it appears the Cosworth heads are well worth it. Other mods were: FP Red, Perrin FMIC, Perrin Modded injectors, Snow kit with "some tweaks." Perrin BigMaf, WJM TGV deletes and a few other little things. On 11 psi (staying under the meth spray) it made 330 whp. At 22 psi it made 445 whp. We were OUT of time so all we were shooting for was top end, to see where it went. With the AVC-R doing all the work (slow ramp to full boost), and NEVER spraying the FMIC, at 29 psi it made: We had planned on going to 34 psi or so, but the manager here said that if I didn't have car outside the gate in 20 minutes they were locking us in... We'll have it back on the dyno in a few weeks. The torque is low because of the AVC-R settings. It wasn't making full boost until up top, but that was all we were playing with at the moment. SS
cool deal. So scott you gonna get these numbers when you tune my stage 2 legacy tomorrow morning :naughty:
Very nice, and thats not lag, you guys are just used to VF series turbos. 5000rpms, I hope our new setup spools that soon.
The turbo isn't laggy at all, and like SS said with some AVCR tweaking this tune is only going to get better. I can only imagine what this car will be like on the track.
i guess ur the owner huh... i saw ur car a while back... after i saw ur setup, i really wanted to get a ride... unfortunately SS decided to finish up after i left i bet ur enjoying it oh and by the way, welcome to WRXatlanta
Thanks- I'm the owner of the cosworth STi:wiggle: I love the car but I'm going easy onit untill the final tune is complete. The most boost I ran on the street so far is about 12psi. I just don't want to get onit untill SS is done with it and gives me the thumbs up. I hope SS can finish it up the week of June 9th:sx: .
Good luck, but I'm sure he'll be done before then. That much power must feel unbelievable attatched to a six speed.
I'll report back after the tune is done, I'll give you my impression of the power compared to the FP green@450whp that I had on for a whole 500 miles.
Mahle pistons, Oliver Rods, coated bearing. It was the blue one with the mud flaps. The insane thing is this car will sometimes be used on GRAVEL :eek4: SS
I like to think of it as an alternate road surface that seperates the drivers that think they can drive fast from the ones that can actually drive fast no matter the conditions.(now watch me crash this thing at the rally school) I hope the gravel this summer is kind to the car as it's lowered to much for VT roads; I might have to adjust it a bit.
