My brakes wabble?

I just bought new front rotors and pads, then turned around and had the rotors cut and my brakes still shake at heavy braking. Does any one have a clue what it could be?

I would make sure the rotor is flush, they aren't warped, your brake pads have even wear. Depending on what pad you went to, you could still be getting fade also. I know there is a lot of shaking in the steering wheel when I heated up the pads a lot. Also, I went to upgraded lines to ss, and some of the abs pedal vibration went away.

Could it have something to do with the abs.

mine shake all the time but it stops fine when you need to. also if you have slotted rotors it could be cutting your pads unevenly and making it shimmy when you apply at normal speeds. just a hunch from what I've read about braking issues.

Where is the vibration anyways? From the brake pedal, steering wheel, or a noise outside the car that vibrates the car? This will help determine the location of the problem a little better.

The vibration is in the pedal and the steering wheel. They are new stock rotors, and i just got an alignment.

What pads are you using? It sounds like you are still getting brake fade. Since they are new rotors, I doubt they are warped from heat, but still possible. Were the pads new with the rotors. Normally, they need to be broken in together. Which DOT brake fluid did you switch to? If you aren't running a 3/4 I would definitely suggest bleeding the whole system. Also, the ss brake lines do wonders for pedal stiffness and preventing abs from rattling your foot.

i have same problem, it's caused by ur abs system, there was a recall on this from royal subaru about brakeing issue i didnt do the recall cause they said if the problem is still there they cant redo this.. so i have the vibe when hard braking..

im going to guess the rear rotors are warped. if it was the front that was warped the shaking would come on when you first press the pedal. normaly when its the rear you can tell cause the brake pedal is more than 50% depressed. i have a question does the pedal get real mushy feeling when this happens; like you can press it to the floor and you dont feel like your stopping anyfaster?

true those are some things i felt when my abs was going on. i dont think this is an abs issue or a fluid issue. im still leaning toward the rear rotors.

Why do you think the rear rotors?

Because you have to depress the pedal further to actuate the rear brakes.

Makes sense. so I should try rear rotors and pads.

yes i would get the rear resurfaced and if the pads need replacing do that also.

Take it to a brake specialist to be sure. I am sure they can put the rotor on a mount like a wheel setup to see if its balanced. Don't want you to buy a whole bunch of new stuff if its not the problem.

Something else to consider -- did you lock up a tire under heavy breaking or such? If one of them has a flat spot, you'll feel it. However, considering its under breaking, I would just say that one of the rotor(s) is warped.

I had the same thing happen to me, or at least similar. It ended up being I threw a weight off my rim and needed to rebalance my tires. Fixed problem.

Also when I hit my brakes towards the end when i start to come to a complete stop it makes a kind of klunking noise, it also does it when i start off to.
