That's right, apparently Shell and Kroger have teamed up and are offering $0.10 per gallon off with a Kroger card.

I was at the Shell by Sprayberry and noticed this yesterday. You know how you can save $.10/gallon at the pump if you scan your Kroger Plus Card at a Kroger gas station? That never worked well for me because I don't live near a Kroger gas station. Now Shells in the metro ATL area participate too. You can't scan your Kroger card because they don't have readers, but you can manually input your card number on the keypad (or swipe the Kroger Plus Card in the credit card slot if you have the full-sized card instead of the keychain card) and it will take $.10 off at Shell too!

I haven't seen this advertised at all, so thought I would pass it along...

Have you tried this yet Scott? And is this all Shell locations? You'd still have to do a cost comparison vs. stations around it. The 2 Shells I pass daily are a lot more expensive than the surrounding stations... But, still cool...

Dang it, I just filled up my tank tonight at Kroger. I wish I would have read this earlier and I would have tried it myself.

i wonder if kroger is gonna start getting their gas from shell?

  6. I wonder if the same conditions apply. At kroger I think you have to spend something like $100 to get that .10 discount. Lucky for me the two shells by my house are the same price as everyone else.

MOST everyone already gets their gas from one major distributor in Atlanta. All they do is add their own additives at the station when it gets pumped into their tanks.

QT and RaceTrac I believe are 2 companies that don't get their gas from the giant distributor. They have their own filling station.

I thought the 10 cents off at kroger only worked if you bought $100 worth of groceries. otherwise, it was 3 cents off

The in the first post explains it all, but yes, you need to shop at Kroger to get the discount.

saved myself $.10 a gallon this morning :)

was just gonna try it, but it actually popped up before I swiped the card saying "enter your kroger plus card". Not too hard to spend $100 a month on groceries.

Shell stations up here are always a good $0.25 higher than all the others for the same octane. Their additives must cost a lot.....but Amoco's gas was just as good back when I did a lot of datalogging.

But pretty sweet deal for those that shop at Kroger regular and get $100 of groceries.

Works sorta like the Piggly Wiggle Greenbax system and the FoodLion MVP system.
