pm'd u but will post here again
    -----------------------------------------------

standard upgrades for the 5 speed (powerwise) in my opinion would be:

turboback exhaust: this is all the piping after the turbo... helix, turboXS, etc make full turbo back exhausts for our cars... u can also mix n match as u get a downpipe u like and ur choice of a catback... i'd recommend a bellmouth downpipe... helix makes a good bellmouth downpipe... i have the catted helix downpipe which costed $400 new... the catless one is cheaper... catback is more for sound... i'd recommend u ride in peoples cars with different cat backs and decide which one u like the most... u should be able to get a full turbo back system for under $1000

up-pipe: should cost under $300... make sure u get one with a flex joint in it

intercooler upgrade: stick to a top mount as long as u have the stock turbo... a used STi intercooler is a cost effective intercooler upgrade and u could get it for under $350... some of the others like helix and turboXS flow better but will cost more

engine management: i strongly recommend ECUTEK... will cost $850 + tuning charges ($108/hr at topspeed or $120/hr at Subaqru of Gwinnett (SOG))...
the more mods u have, the bigger gains this will give you... i'd recommend u put the parts on ur car and then get the ECUTEK

an automatic might need more supporting mods like a high stall torque converter... i dont know anything about that... hopefully bobby or someone else might chime in

hope this is helpful... let me know if u need anything else

btw, i live right by tech too... off 26th street

Autos are the same engine, so all of the power mods will transfer over with the exception of the lightweight crank pulleys (much harder to pull the pulley off since you cant disengage the tranny from the engine).

Once you've gotten some miles on her swap in synthetc transmission fluid (I dont know a good time to switch, I know at least with engines you should run them with regular oil before swapping to synth). If you've got some spare cash a tranny cooler is a good reliability mod for the automatics (you can pick up a Hayden #403 cooler for $40 at autozone).

If you're ragging on the car ever be sure to take breaks between runs to let the tranny oil cool down (a tranny temp gauge is useful).

As far as the torque converter mods go, it's the largest mod you can do with changing the way the car drives and feels but it is very costly in labor.

If you've got anymore questions let me know, I used to have an auto in my car.

So light weight crank pulleys are more difficult for 4eats?

How much more difficult? I was really looking forward to that mod...

I'm not sure how much more difficult, but remember reading a thread on Clubwrx where some guys gave up installing the crank pulley because they were having such difficulty removing the stocker.

its a decent price for everything included... but note the downpipe is catless... dunno if u care one way or another

besides the uppipe, everything else should be easy to install... we've done tonnes of these at our install days

whats the diff between a catted one.. what issues does that cause

well, a catless exhaust will stink... plus the law requires cats for emmissions... then again the law requires u dont tamper with the factory cats either... that doesn't seem to stop anybody

i have a catted downpipe... its more expensive than a catless one... theres a little loss of power but from what ive heard, its marginal unless ur running a rediculously powerful setup

I agree with Milo....full exhaust and Ecutek, you should be a happy camper for a min till the "mod bug" hits ya again....CAI is cool, i love mine!! Scott from SOG installed mine and did a great job!! but if you choose to install something yourself to save $ there's plenty of people on here that can help you.... :bigthumb:

i dunno if u can add a cat to it without dropping some serious money... email gruppe-s and ask them if they can give u a catted downpipe instead for a little extra... btw, tell em ur on WRXatlanta :)
