Ever since I've had my new 3 puck stage 2 clutch in I'm hearing a slight clunk in between shifts from the rear. Its not to concerning since it's nothing crazy but I'm just wondering whats causing it. My guess is that it's a soft bushing thats not meant to handle a more agressive clutch and more than stock power... My clutch grabs REALLY hard so... I searched around and found a few people experiencing similar problems but didn't feel like any of them were the exact same... Anyone have any experience with this problem?
^^ sounds about right to me. If you've got too agressive of a clutch, you may want to start saving up for axles, though I'm not sure how much power you're putting down. Those are the next thing in line to break.
i have stage 3 six puck clutch and it grabbs really hard, ans would judder the whole car at times when i was getting used to it. i installed a sti solid transmission mount and it helped a ton.
I have had the same sound from my trunk, it used to bother me a lot, but now I am used to it, but eventually I am going to replace those bushings and see how that takes care of it.
Ok, good thats what I thought. The noise doesn't REALLY bother me but you know... Lock down bolts? I'm assuming they just act like a solid bushing? I'd probly go with the whiteline bushings or something. That sounds a tad easier on stuff . I'm only putting down around 320 and 360 to the wheels right now so it's nothing too crazy.
Turn In Concepts Clunk Killer should do you right. I plan on picking one up by the summer. You can slip the clutch more and not get the clunk but then you're just burning out your clutch.
